After being shelled by the Detroit Red Wings in their last visit to the Forum, Patrick Roy made the statement heard ’round the hockey world when he informed Canadiens President Ronald Corey:
“This is my last game as a Montreal Canadien.”
Roy was subsequently traded to the Colorado Avalanche on December 6th, ending the Roy era in Montreal

Yo great goalie
š«”
did he said to Ronald Corey Ā«Ā I played my last game in Montreal?Ā Ā»
The Montreal Canadiens are suffering from the curse of Roy because the franchise has not won a Stanley Cup since 1993 & has made only 1 appearance in the Stanley Cup final since they did what they did to Patrick Roy that night
Je peux pas croire qu'on voit ste gars la a toute les games comme analyste…
If you think you ever screwed up on the job. Well just take a look at this video and you will feel better. Montreal is still trash tier 30 years after this š And Roy went to win another 2 cups with another team.
He said āI may have given up 9 goals but I did just save 15% on my car insurance by switching to Geicoā
Roy was one of the greats š
And what he was traded for even funnier
Crazy how the players' bench was just.. open to the arena behind it. No glass at all??
Pissed off because they kept him in the game. More goals get by him raising his Goals against average
It was a great day to be a Wings fan.
Emotions are very real.
Patrick Roy, one of the greatest, was disrespected.
Something similar happened in Tampa with Steve Yzerman disrespecting Martin St-Louis.
Whoever makes the schedules has a sick sense of humour. I wonder if they think this is gonna happen twice. Still,it's a comment on what ABSOLUTE CLOWNS Mario Tremblay and Rejean Houle were. Couldn't get past their own egos, and they go on to forever destroy a once-proud franchise (then again, they were doing it at a record pace. This same team won the Stanley Cup 2 and 1/2 years earlier, and this team got so bad so fast) . Where are THEY now?
A catch 22 moment as a Redwings fan.
How much?
T'a compris!
