A look at the youth WC jersey

So, I got a Youth XL WC, and thought I’d share my thoughts on its quality and fit. Whether anyone is interested in getting one for a little Squiddo in their life, or you’re just really small like me, maybe this will help someone make their decision. I ordered it off the NHL shop.

*Quality*

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, considering the price and the fact it’s a product intended for kids. The logo, name, and numbers are the layered felt, and it is all stitched. The stitching is a bit different compared to other pictures I’ve seen in other pictures posted to the sub.

There is a WC ‘patch’ but it’s not the real patch. It’s more like a replica made from a plasticy-feeling material. It’s the least convincing part of the jersey. No one might notice from a distance, but it’s pretty obvious up close.

Youth jerseys also have a large, ugly size patch on the front in the lower left, but that takes like 5 minutes with a seam ripper to get rid of.

I’m pretty satisfied with the quality. I don’t have an adult version to compare to, but for the price, it works just fine for me. Maybe I’m just easy to please 🤷‍♀️

*Fit*

I’m a small lady, and an XL fits me pretty well for the most part. I’m 5’4, 140 lbs. Shoulder to hip, I measure 18″, 36″ around my hips, and my bra size is 34B. The jersey fits comfortably, is loose enough for a light/thin hoodie or sweater underneath, and is long enough to completely cover my butt.

The sleeves are the only exception to fitting well, being maybe a few inches shorter than one might like, but I expected that before I bought it and can live with it. Some people might not like it.

*Overall*, the jersey is decently solid for the price. In all likelihood, not as good as the pricier adult sizes, but if you’re getting it for a kid, or you’re small and cheap like me, it’s serviceable.
