  1. Problem is hes not even top prospect .. Can't skate backwards ! Good ridance .. chalk it up as another bad pick by oilers scouts. another miss.

  2. Broberg for podkolzin? 10th pick in the same draft for canucks? Canucks have a need for more defensive depth per gm. Podkolzin doesnt have room up the lineup?

  3. The oilers fumbled. Broberg wanted to play in the league, yea he had issues but thats due to lack of development and as an oilers fan im gonna say it…. we cant develop players or give them great training. This will come back to bite us. Just look at Talbot after his bad season in edmonton and think back to Dubnyck, Schultz, and petry.

  4. If you’re trying to make this sound like a loss for the oilers it’s not. Plus if he wants to go let him go that’s his choice.

  5. LGR we have a Defense MAN that has a similar profile but is smaller and quicker and better on the Power Play named Zach Jones they make about the same amount of money if Edmonton retains the difference we can swap them out. Perhaps they both need a change of scenery.

  6. Top Prospect? HAHAHAHA yeah ok, meanwhile 7th round picks have passed him in the depth chart. Good riddance to bad rubbish if he refuses to earn a spot on the roster. The guy can't even skate backwards ffs lol

  7. Offensive dmen are often tough to develop. Guys that are actually NHL worthy are tough to find, and you have to put up with a lot of growing pains to get them there. Good teams who are competitive really struggle to justify giving guys like that ice time. Bad teams are the teams where guys like that can thrive.
