This is NOT good..

OK Guys, its time to take a look at the recent news surrounding Alex Newhook, who was injured during the game against the Florida Panthers.. He’s going to be out for at least 8 to 10 weeks now, and unfortunately the lineup will definitely suffer without him.

  1. Regarding the lines; it's the same thing … coaches give the vets (producing or not) ALL the opportunities. Thought it might be different with MSL but I guess I'm wrong.

Funny thing is, I thought this was a rebuilding team with the priority being player development?????? WTF?? We know this year's a bust. Doesn't make sense to me. 🤦‍♂

  2. It's not what Slafkovsky's done to deserve the 3rd line, it's what he HASN'T done. At the 23 game mark, the First Overall draft pick has 2 goals and 5 assists, for 7 points and he's -4. Last year he had 4g and 6a in 39gms and was -13. In 62gms, the kid the Montreal media said would "dominate" has 17pts and is -17. I don't know about you but these numbers are not worthy of a NHL player, let alonebthe First Overall. IF…you point to some recent numbers, they are entirely misleading. He's doing nothing out there. Laxt fame he didn't record a shot or a hit. He is averaging barely over 1 shot per/gm. He won't/can't carry the puck, won't lead rushes, make plays, take or give a hit to make room and he doesn't win 1on1 battles. He is digressing. When will you and others call out Kent for keeping him here? Can anyone explain how Kent, Marty and the Organization are measuring his "progress". What is tge criteria? Must we simply accept their word and what do ours eyes tell us. There is NO quickness to his game, he's never 1st on the puck…or…in a corner. He's an anchor on the 1st line. What do YOU think he would do if he was sent to the Manures? He wouldn't be playing with Suzuki or Caulfield! For a big man, I DON'T see a willingness to engage in the play. He is always behind the play and there is no quickness. For fun, next game count the touches (and how long the puck is on his stick), shots, opportunities HE makes, hits, take aways, rushes 1st on puck) These are quantifiable and measurable and tge results can't be denied. For the Duke and Marty say Slafkovsky is developing they're lying. The only thing the kid is developing are bad habits. Let's touch basis after the next game. Oh, the loss of another for a extended period, just puts the Habs in a better position to be rewarded for failure…another high draft pick. As a Hab Fan, I don't drink the Koolaide.

  3. that has to be the worst line up in the league and by far the worst 2nd line the habs have ever put on the ice in their history

  4. I honestly have no clue on why Slaf and Moneyhands haven't been on the second line together yet. In my opinion Monahan and Slaf get the most high-danger chances outside of our top line. I think they would have instant chemistry and anything is better than Dvorak and Anderson at this point.

  5. I agree 100% bro, Anderson needs to be held accountable, Dach has the same amount of points as Anderson, he needs to sit a game or two, at least. Maybe then he will respond the way he should. It's not an effort issue, he's tryin, puttin in the work, but ya, he should sit a game or two, i realize we're riddled with injuries, at least put him on the 4th line. Id rather see Roy out there at this point.

  6. I love bringing Caufield Suzuki Monahan back but given the circumstances I would’ve thrown together Slaf Monahan Ylonen for the second line and throw whoever with Suzuki and Caufield

  7. Marty has been sucking up on the veterans a lot this year. Anderson, Gally, Dvorak should all be on the bottom 6 and maybe some 2nd wave PP. Kids need some top minutes. We don’t care about losing.

  8. Now can we stop pointing the finger at slav for a moment? Hes actually doing alright and getting better , and especially given that his teammates already cant manage to pass the puck to him when hes wide open on a 3on1

  9. Anderson always gets free passes with Hab fans, Hoffman was a whipping boy for fans even though he out produced and out worked Anderson. Same this year with Gally. I like Anderson but apart from last game he doesn't do what makes him effective, going in the corners, making the first hit on the forecheck and going hard to the net!

  10. Logic is simple, has nothing to do with Slaf's performance, it's to make Josh Anderson look better to regain trade value while the results don't improve the slightest bit cause, y'know, #weenie

  11. The coach wants a 2nd experience line. Pearson plays left otherwise he and Anderson would be switched in a heart beat !

  12. There could be a million reasons. To name a few – maybe they want to give Anderson more minutes to get him going, maybe it's his last chance to un-Pitlick, maybe some other team is interested in his services and want him to play more, or maybe MSL and Hughes got stoned last night and thought feck it, let's move him up. Slafkovsky may simply need some downtime in the third, or they're not happy with him not scoring goals, or maybe it's because of Anderson, or maybe MSL wants to get a conspiracy going just for fun etc.

  13. People may disagree with me and that's perfectly reasonable, but I kinda feel like Evans and Pearson might be better lineages than Dvo and Gally right now for Slaf. There line would be my #2 right now and I'd prob also give Ylonen a chance with Dvo and Gally and staple Anderson to the 4th.

  14. Terrible news, he's the team's 2nd best scorer. Is Dach gonna still out for long? We need Lady Luck plz

  15. so gary what is the nhl going to do to protect the habs, are players keep getting hurt with borderline or blatant attacks with no consequences when we give so much money with the profit sharing where is the protection gary where is it it has been since we almost won the cup in the bubble we keep beating records of man game last you better do your job bettman

  16. Those lines look awful:
    Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
    Gallagher-Monahan-Pearson
    Armia-Dvorak-WAWA
    Ylonen-Evans-Pezzeta

    Trois-Rivière —> Anderson

  17. I think as a coach it can be difficult to choose the best player vs the best leaders, teammates and guys that have an X factor that the coach is invested in. Either a plan to assure the playoffs are at the highest for the most important pieces or simply a case of having too many chips in a decision that you’ve banked on in the past… older players that have shown you the money, vs. Kids that have all the potentials but you just as a coach are trying to squeeze as much as you can outta the vets and “good stories” like Anderson. Then you have pressure from the GM to have you play the best “assets” including trade pawns.

  18. Montreal’s cursed. Been cursed since ‘95. Trifecta: LeClair trade. Loss of Roy. Moving to the Belle Center.
    End of story.
