  1. I have had nagging concerns about Monty for a while now. I've ignored them because what do I know. I'm not a coach, never have been, not even for Peewees. So I would hate to tell him how to do his job. I want him to succeed and he made great things happen last year until well, the collapse. And after said collapse, I still gave him the benefit of the doubt. But it seems to me like he has been making rash decisions and has a problem with consistency. Always switching up the lines for what seems like shits and giggles because many of the combos don't make much sense. Now it feels like he is actively working against Poitras for who knows what reason. Maybe tough love? I don't know. I really hope I'm wrong! Anyway, love to see a win! Go B'sssss!

  2. Monty fucked up with Poitras. Yeah, he fucked up and they scored. But, his effort led to Heinen's goal. So WTF!!! GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, MONTY!!!!!

  3. Seriously he got benched for that mistake? How many turnovers does pasta and Marchy create? I think Poitras is playing great. He totally set up a goal after that. Unless Poitras has an attitude problem Monty should be benched… especially for that sham called coaching last playoffs.

  4. Not to cross sports, but this is basically equivalent to the Patriots benching Pop Douglas for fumbling the ball even though he was their best receiver.

  5. Monty making line changes for no reason is why we lost in the first round. It was so bad for me I stared to believe he was purposely throwing. After that shit show I lost pretty much all trust in him to make the right decisions. This year his coaching has lead us to continuing being a very talented shit show…. If I’m being honest I don’t think he should be our coach.

  6. I think whole period was probably a bit much, but i don’t have that strong an opinion. Other guys are getting more time which I’m sure they appreciate

  7. Thanks! For all the post game commentary. Living in AZ now.. miss da B's and the Gaaden'.. keep up the great work!
Happy Holidays to you and hope you HQ Girlfriend is doing better !

  8. The Yotes have easily become my favorite team this year for the Western Conference, they played well but it was moreso the B's fought for the win more in my eyes. I really wanna see the Yotes make it to the second round this year, would be a lot of fun. I'm skipping game notes cause it's just the usual stuff the community talks about.

Forward Notes: (I'll tackle Poitras at the end)

I was worried about Marchand being on the Czech line, seeing how he played in the past on that line, but my worry was for no reason. Marchy isn't overpassing, isn't second guessing his decisions, and is shooting when he needs to. Zacha going down sucks, hope he's alright, and I'll get into more on this later.

Coyle line being back together is amazing. It is so obvious how better Freddy and JVR play when they're with Coyle. Hoping that line stays together for the rest of the season now barring injury of course.

Beecher line struggled. Steen I thought had a solid game and should definitely stay in the lineup over Lauko, of course you wanna switch em out once and awhile but Steen should be the go to guy right now. Beecher himself struggled, especially offensively, but I have faith in him to shake this off and to go back to his mid-late November form. Geekie I still am not a huge fan of but he did play an alright game in my eyes, solid two way game and was relied on heavily after the Zacha injury.

Heinen continues to show how much of a steal he's been this season. He's played a strong middle 6 game and has cemented himself for the B's hopefully for awhile to come. Debrusk I didn't notice much tonight, which is alright, he didn't do anything wrong defensively and whilst I'd love to see him more offensively, as long as he's strong on defense that is what matters most.

Now then. Poitras. Monty benching him when he has proven to be a solid top 6 C when called upon is idiotic. Yes he wasn't having the strongest game, and costed the team a goal, but he put more energy in after that and directly made a play that led immediately into a goal soon after, not only fixing the mistake he made but also showing that he can be trusted to fix his own mistakes. Let him make mistakes in games, that's the best way too learn from them. The fact that Monty still benched him after that, down a Center, when we have seen how strong his play is when playing with Marchand and Pastrnak is absurd and Monty should be held accountable for this idiotic decision even if it didn't effect the outcome of the game. He made the game harder for everyone else because he doesn't think the B's future top 6 center who has shown he can be trusted in cricital moments is up to the task.

    Defense Notes:

I thought everyone had a strong game, especially being down out best two way Dman being McAvoy and the strong PK Forbort. Genuinely. Gryz Carlo played well together, and this was the first game I thought Gryz was back to his former self. Lindholm Mitchell was a surprise but Mitchell wasn't a defensive liability with Lindholm on his left. Lohrei Shattenkirk I thought had another strong game, obviously there is some struggles but they were strong.

Ullmark was once again strong and what is there to say about him?

Overall I'm worrying Monty is being way too hard on the rookies, especially Poitras, but at least he isn't Cassidy who it seemed was allergic to them. Not much else cause once again it's the usual speaking points of them of needing to see more consistency on the PP (especially when they have a 5 on 3) plus needing to be solid at the start and end of periods. Go B's? GO B'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
