Ander Lee's egregious slew foot and knee to knee acts should be examined by Player Safety against the Kings last night.
What happened to Larkin was horrible. Neither Ottawa player got a reasonable penalty for it.
Perron however deciding to kill the wrong guy for it is somehow worse. If youāre going to retaliate at least get the right guy.
As for the Habs goalies, as far as I know they are willing to move a goalie but apparently the teams that are struggling in net(Carolina, Edmonton and New Jersey) arenāt demonstrating much urgency in fixing that. I would rather fix that as soon as possible but Iām not a GM

Habs fan here, personally, I'd keep Primeau over Allen BUT problem with trading Allen right now is his 3.85 Millions cap hit, like 2/3 of the league don't have the cap space for that so you either have a 3rd team to dump salary OR take that hit yourself…which is not ideal (And the rumors going around when the Oilers were struggling pretty much vanished since McDavid went back to his usual god mode and they won 6 games in a row)

As a Wings fanā¦I admit what Perron did was wrong, but admire he and Fischer sticking up for Larks. What the fans are pissed about is that this is not the first time Larkin has been targeted with intent. Yesā¦there was intent to injure. Joseph KNOWS Larkin has a history of neck problemsā¦had no issue throwing him head first into the boards a couple years ago, and is staring right at Larkinās head while driving his stick into his neck last night. The problem isā¦this is a trend, and crickets from department of player safety and the refs. If the refs and the league wonāt protect the players, the players will protect themselves, which just makes the game and the league more dangerous. I think Joseph made himself the new Claude Lemieux last night, that game in January is most likely going to be eventful to say the least.

As a Wings fan, I canāt understand why anyone thinks that Joseph or Kelly deserve a suspension. Yes, Joseph gave Larks a shot to the head but he got the deserved 2 min minor. Kelly was just trying to check Larks and it ended up being a fluke hit to Larks jaw that knocked him out.
What happened to Larkin was a fluke accident, and i think Perron was wrong for going Hulk mode, considering his teammate was lying face down on the ice. Starting a fight around an injured player can make things a lot worse. After watching the Hits, i say Joseph and Kelly don't deserve suspensions. It was a freak accident, and everyone needs to see that. This is coming from a Red Wings fan.
The canes didnāt go out and get what they really needed in the offseason and thatās why they arenāt playing well. Their problem is they donāt have any responsible centers other than Jordan Staal whoās getting old. They also donāt have a solid goaltender who can boost their confidence. Svech needs to get going and necas needs to stop dancing around with the puck.
Jospeh and kelly should be getting a suspension equal to how long larkin is out!!!!! the league is fucking the wings over per usual and its needs to fucking stop. they need to stop playing favorites and start enforcing the rules of the game, Jospeh and Kelly delivered cross checks to the head which resulted in a player being unconcious for more than 5 minuets meaning they should be suspended if not expelled from the NHL for such a dirty and unsportsmenlike hit
Perron deserved to gat a long suspension for what he did. It sucks that Larkin got hurt on the play. But Jospeh was bumped into by Perron as he was going for the crosscheck. Which cased him to go off balance and the crosscheck went higher than he likely intended. I think the only player that deserves the suspension is going to get it
The fact that nobody gets any punishmnet of any kind for boarding or headhunting Red Wings is getting really fucking annoying. Especially Larkin. It's open season on his neck, and the league does nothing about it. It's sickening.

Primeau keeps getting better. Maybe the 3-goalie system in Montreal is a way of developing him without too much pressure. The target for the Habs to start contending is 25-26, and Jake will be gone by either trade or UFA. Perhaps they hang on to Allen until this year's trade deadline and then move him to a contending team, while keeping some of the salary. That should bring a 1st (late) or 2nd. The bonus is that Primeau will be more comfortable in the NHL.
I don't know if anyone would feel comfortable playing against someone who just randomly cross-checks a player in the face after he sees his captain out cold. I mean this is 2023 ladies and gentlemen. You just can't be doing stuff like that. Thats insane;

The players only meeting is always a good sign. I hope they emerge from their darkened tunnel. Not a 'Canes fan, but I love hockey and like everybody playing to their potential.
I'd say Canes should trade some D for Allen. And send Raanta to LTIR so that he can fix whatever's wrong with him.

It baffles me why the league continuously protects dirty players like him while punishing the clean ones who snap when these dirty goons injure star players. George Parros should be ashamed of himself. But he was a thug himself so I guess you gotta protect your fellow dirty players as you scream "death to all star players"
I think the Hurricanes will bounce back. This time last year they had just come off of a 8-10 game losing streak and then went on to dominate the rest of the year
