Jakub Voracek thought he was playing with a broken foot for weeks and it turned out to be GOUT.

  1. I always had respect for Voracek, he got absolutely destroyed by Kronwall and when asked after the game he said it was clean and he didn’t have his head up, good on him.

  2. I thought I broke my ankle and it ended up being gout but I was a 42 year old guy who only got it from red meat. Don't drink or eat sea food. But it was one of the worst pains I ever had cause it was in the able joint

  3. I’ve know two guys with gout, it sounded terribly painful. Diet of rich foods was the culprit

  4. Couple of things: It’s pretty easy to develop gout at a young age. I have it because my father did. It’s genetic. Also, it’s insane that he had to do X-rays and an MRI just to find out he had gout. A swollen foot, no idea how he “broke it”? Probably woke up to it. Gout’s at the top of the list, doc.

  5. Yep gout absolutely sucks. After first flare up, doc inserted a needle into the ankle fluid and he let me see the crystal buildup under a microscope. No more processed foods, little to no red meat or pork, same with alcohol. Probably the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life.
