  1. The players are playing under the rule of hockey royalty, I'm sure that also helped with the moral aspect of the teams game

  2. His coaching will be the difference between the Oilers moving ahead pass Toronto in the playoffs. The Leafs will again lose in the first round.

  3. The players are being utilized in a way that is best for the team now I feel. Not their ego's or salary. Going 12-6 and keeping TOI in check too

  4. has not been long enough for any show, defensive breakdown on Bedard goal, bad line change, it was Chicago if not for their Goalie, a Goalie Edmonton wished they had,

  5. Defenceman that are better than Paul Coffey for obvious reasons: I. Bobby Orr (clearly and without a doubt better than Coffey 2:36 by a country mile! ); 2. Lidstrom ( no way Coffey can compare to this Dman; definitely better than Coffee!); 2:36 3. Drew Doughty ( I’d take Doughty 100% over Coffey!); 4. Cale Makar ( easily more talented than Coffey); 5. Victor Hedman; 6) Heiskenen; 7) Giordano; 8) Dennis Potvin; 9) Erik Karlsson; 10) Alex Pietrangelo; 11) Ekblad; 12) Ekman Larsson!… and other defenceman have more talent and impact than Coffey and I’m a diehard Oilers fan and Edmontonian, born, educated and raised in Edmonton! Coffey may or may not be in the top 20! Scotty Bowman dismissed Coffey from practice for attitude problems and an ego issue. Bowman being one of the best and winningest coach in NHL history with a very-very high hockey IQ will also agree with most of my choices on top defenceman! Met Coffey in Toronto and immediately recognized him as arrogant and lacking character. He was nothing special other than a great skater surrounded by elite players like Mario, Jagr, Messier, Gretzky, Yzerman etc…

  6. Knoblauch has shown calmness, genuineness, building chemistry amongst linemates. Playing hockey the right way by making simple plays. Instilling confidence in his players. Woodcroft is an intelligent coach however his players seemed out of sync and lacking defensive skills which destroyed Jack Campbell’s career. Woodcroft could not find answers for the Oilers start to the season. His go to line in the media was: “Not good enough.” Hopefully the Penguins hire Woodcroft because they are underperforming right now!

  7. If you are old enough to have watched Coffee's playing career and paid attention, you would have known the difference he would make. Probably the smartest defensemen to play the game.

  8. So many media and fans said that it was another ridiculous old boys club hire. We need to give props that management made a good call.

  9. The young guy didn't think Paul Coffey would make a difference??? That's why some guys are on YouTube and some guys are behind the bench as the new D coach.

  10. I agree with frank other than him saying that coffey being a top 5-10 dman being a big reason hes been able to step onto a bench. Wayne Gretzky couldnt step onto a bench amd do a great job.
