Thats a shit example for the youth watching hockey on TV. This kind of behavior should be punished severly. Any coach or player that intentionally break a stick in front of the crowd should get suspended. I understand there is a lot of money at play… But Hockey is a GAME.
The coach should get 2 minutes for slashing. Way to show how to be a sore loser.. Isn't he supposed to teach good sportsmanship? This is what kids are seeing a grown man because his team lost a game..
Watched that whole game. Enjoyed seeing my hometown Blues win. Hated seeing the refs use the whistle to control the game and totally understand why coach lost his mind. I'm about dead with sports because it's becoming more and more obvious that there are behind the scenes politics going on that contribute to the success of certain franchises and markets. Using these refs is just one of the ways they punish teams or pump Vegas (gambling not the knights). We've all seen the leaked footage that plunges draft stock so that prime talent lands in large markets. we've all seen "allegations" in prime parts of a players career or season. we've all seen teams win chips and then get caught cheating but still got the reward. I'm sick of the loss of integrity in our sports and this is why coaches are retiring and losing their minds on the courts, fields, rinks.
