Their biggest issue right now..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the Montreal Canadien’s biggest issue right now IN MY OPINION.. Goal scoring! The Canadiens truly lack talent up front, and I really hope this issue gets addressed during the 2024 draft. Lets take a look and compare with the rest of the league.

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. Dach and Newhook who had as many goals as 22.. these are 2 of our dept players that are missing.. We are missing punch forward. Some missed opportunity drafting a defense as #1 last year

  2. TRADES!!! but you have to give to receive?? that's the scary part. We don't have much to give to get that top six forward. Picks are our golden ticket for now and i don't think many teams will give a superstar for picks. GO Habs GO!!!!

  3. We messed up the Rebuild by getting a few extra wins in the best draft in many years. We picked up Monahan for a chance at a high #1 draft pick (maybe 15-20th?), didnt trade Allen, or Anderson, which basically gave us those 4 extra wins, just enough to miss out on a guaranteed chance at Bedard, Fantilli or Carlsson. Again this season, we are getting lucky and winning games in OT, and i have a feeling we will eventually finish higher than we should in the standings, missing out a 2nd year in a row on some elite talent players, something that is seriously lacking on our team. We are filled to the brim with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line players, but nothing truly elite, and that is something to be of concern. The first time the Habs decided to rebuild, and in my opinion it is a failure. Thats not to say they wont be a good team in 3-4yrs once all the kids develop, and we perhaps find a true #1 goalie etc, but will we be a truly Elite cup contending team for many years? I have my doubts.

  4. I don't think Gorton and Hughes expected Caufield to only have 7 goals by this point of the season. None of us expected that.

  5. I think Hughes and Gorton are playing chess and we are all debating why they are not making the best checkers move.

When you have a team that’s only real threat is two players you think the other teams are not gonna learn to stop them? Plus a fanbase trying to act like RHP is capable of being a first liner but Suzuki is a second liner at best. 🤷‍♂️

Let’s trust the process. Sounds like everyone wants a superstar that can mask how bad we are overall so at least we will be exciting as we go nowhere. Looking at you Edmonton and Toronto.

  6. Honestly I would assume the Canadians are going to Draft the "best player available" in the draft and Not so much on "need" at this point.. that could be another Defensemen potentially.. hopefully not.. but it very well could be.. I think it's too early to worry about production woes and re tooling the offense, maybe in a year, even two I would think. it's all about asset acquisition, stock piling draft picks and using cap space to acquire essentially free assets.. once the D core is established and developed I'd assume Kent will use the stock pile of rookies as trade stock to acquire Vets or already developed Offensive assets from another team starting their rebuild. should take a year or two more to get rid of the bad contracts on the current roster to really make that happen. it's not the Worst plan in the world given that 5 of their offensive weapons are already part of the team. ( Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slav, Newhook) and are all under 25 years old. you build from the Net out and it looks like for the most part that's their plan.

  7. Trades!…. We can easily flip a young LHD for a young forward. That said, on the Hocket Nation Live Show's YouTube channel, moving Arber Xhekaj to forward was suggested. I hope you jump onto a #HNLS live broadcast and tell us who would be a good centre to play between Florian and Arber. That could be the 4th line from Hell.

  8. I think a combination of draft and trades. Definitely have some decent Dmen to Bo Dangle in a package or own their own. If the Habs draft a Dman in the first my head'll explode!

    Good stuff Junkie!!!

  9. Way too many problems too many pieces of the puzzle are missing.I really hate it when people are looking for ANYTHING to be positive about because it creates a FALSE hype meter this team is NOT a good team.We lack in every single facet of the game every one of them.
Defense is not the problem goaltending is not the problem it is everything else players helping each other going to the net winning board battles elevating shots reading the passing lanes in the defensive zone etc etc.
It takes time to teach a pile of clueless players but time is not on our side because i have not seen a single aspect improved upon.if all we are going to do is wait for some amazing draft picks that are already gifted high IQ players then why have a coach what good is he for anyone can open and close a gate.

  10. 1000% agree. We need more better talent up front. Too bad previous drafts did not help much. I am not holding my breath for 24 draft. Maybe we will have to trade one great D for one great F. But I would wait until the D traffic jam is more intense.

  11. They should have drafted Michkov!! Celebrini or Eiserman would look AWESOME in the bleu blanc e rouge!! Please God!!

  12. When they drafted a Reinbacher 5th, Bobrov and Lapointe said after when questioned about passing on offensive talent, "we feel we have scoring". No they don't, not on the team not in prospects. They need potential 1st line talent, trading for it isn't likely. You have to draft it. They do have some good bottom 6 prospects. There's issues in scouting/draft selection, coaching and strategy, passiveness in the Dzone, staying on the outside in the Ozone, lack of intensity, lack of top scoring talent….

  13. this problem has been creeping up for a while and its scary! i dont wanna question mr Hughes but i think they should have picked a forward instead of popcorn! we were already stacked on the blue line before the draft so i wonder whats the plan here

  14. My biggest concern has become Slaf. I was all aboard the Slaf's train but I dont like what I've been seeing. He looks like the guy at Midget camp that just started playing hockey and that looks fragile on his skate. Slaf is not strong on his skates at all, a wind gust and looses all equilibrium. Plus, I thought it's hockey sense was up there but he doesnt have any composure with the puck. Its obvious in shootouts where he lookes like he doesnt have a plan and improvises a clumsy move.

Hope I'm wrong, god I hope I'm wrong.
