Clark Gillies, one of the toughest players of all time, has more 30 goal seasons than Kane! Give me a break! Go watch film on Pat Lafontaine who had 7 40+ goal seasons, averaged 1.17 ppg for his entire career, and did so playing with inferior talent. Kane was with future hall of famer Toews and Patrick Sharp, and then played with Panarin and Antisimov. Lafontaine only had world class linemates after he was traded to Buffalo where he set the record for American born players with a 148 point season playing with Alexander Mogilny and Dave Andrychuk. When he was an Islander, he was playing with Pat Flatley and David Volek mostly.
