The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of business against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Kyle Dubas’ first game back even without two key pieces in Auston Matthews and T.J. Brodie. Ha Ha , Told Ya Mathews is an Anchor on ever Line He is on.
It's not hard to Over come cutting the Anchor so the Team can Shine.
Trade Mathews for 2 or 3 good Checking Players at both ends and this Line Up will take You to the Finals.

The Leafs have never had any trouble winning without Matthews. Marner is the guy they can't win without. So who is the best player? The guy who wins individual awards or the guy who turns a lottery team into a playoff team. I should add some numbers. Leafs without Matthews 35-19-2. Leafs without Marner 12-13-4.
Giordano shouldn't play every night. I really like the current Dcore. The front of the Leafs net is no longer the equivalent of a Lazy-Boy chair. Whoever isn't playing like a savage should be rested.

About this faceoff thing, faceoffs are important for sure.
Toronto can get away with sub par faceoffs if tavares is winning nearly 80 percent of his draws.
Tavares was probably playing against sidney crosby. Him winning so heavily limited the possession that pittsburgh could have. Outside of sids line how much of a threat were the rest of the lines? Even if toronto lost the faceoffs the other pittsburgh lines dodnt seem too threatening
When Woll is healthy and 100% , waiver or trade for Sammy, no hard feelings because M.Jones just needs a decent team in front of him and he's solid back there, and the boys feed off that 😂 GO LEAFS GO
The other thing about jones is he's cleared waivers for longer than 30 days as well… if he gets sent back down he will be up for waivers again.
If jones plays well, i think the Leafs' decision will be made for them. That 100k bonus trick only works once. Now that that's been paid out. If jones plays well, he WILL get claimed.
I hope the leafs will be forced to keep him up. At least that means two goalies are running good

Yes Jones and the whole team played well… but if we are going to bash guys who play so-so, then you have to give them credit when they play better than the rest! And yes, those three were the best that game.
