With the 5th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, the Vancouver Canucks selected defenceman Olli Juolevi of the London Knights.
Juolevi is the first d-man taken in the 2016 draft and is widely-considered to be the best all-around blueliner in this year’s class. He had a massive year, winning the Memorial Cup with the London Knights and the World Juniors with Finland.
The Canucks hope to have their much-needed number one defenceman.

juolevi is so damn good, like he's going to be a top NHL defenceman for 10-20 years, not just a top Canuck. he's a world class hockey player in his own, and will eclipse his NHL comparable Maatta easily when he makes the NHL.
Buffalo fans are NOT happy with the Canucks taking Juo at 5. Wanted him desperately.
