WE WANT FLEURY!

Today as the Minnesota Wild came into Pittsburgh with the possible retirement of Marc-Andre Fleury looming, the obvious story line was that this could be the last time he plays in Pittsburgh. While he did not end up starting – which gave him time to prank Kris Letang before the game switching out his helmet- as the Penguins scored 3 fairly quick the fans chanted “We Want Fleury” after every goal hoping for Gustavsson to be pulled so we could see Fleury ONE more time! Crosby also took possession of 13th overall in NHL points which was cool. I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. Do any Penguins fans remember the song the radio made after the 09’ cup? I can only remember them singing “our goalies nuts.” I think it was played on the radio or local tv I forgot.

  2. Fluery was our hope when he was drafted. I remember his first game so clearly as a child. He was the original spark for the pens. I and I know, so many others get so emotional when he comes to town. He meant so much to us and still does to this day. His jersey retirement in Pittsburgh will be only second to Crosby. That’s how much he means to us.

  3. I'm a little confused. You said there was a double header.

Since I've never seen one before, I was ready to go!!!
But then you cut before the 2nd game even started??

    What's up?

  4. I was at the game, after every Pens goal we'd scream for Flower. Then the wild started the comeback and we stopped chanting lol

  5. Why would he retire when he's still got it? Surely plenty of teams could use a goaltender upgrade.

  6. I appreciate who he is, but the wild choosing him over Talbot is a mistake that they're still living with.

  7. They really tried to summon fleury, that would have been epic

Not me savoring that one season he played for the hawks

  8. Can a team retire a jersey of a former play even if they no longer play for them? Silly question, I know just curious.

  9. Life long pens fan, Fleury is a class act nothing but love, but a couple times he’s faced us we chased him outta of the net. Unfortunately think it’s the right call to have him NOT play against the pens.

  10. Lots of players come and go.. But Pittsburgh will cheer for fleury no matter what. Such a loveable guy. Kessel has special place in our hearts too. Although his tenure was short, it was wonderful

  11. Fleury is a HOF goalie. But I think the flower has wilted a bit too much. Doesn't mean we still don't love the guy!
