My guess is Alfie will be installed as headcoach eventually, likely in the offseason. Once Martin gets them back ontrack.
The send new owners are currently cleaning up the mess that Dorian created. This is not surprising at all the smith was fired. When the new owner came in any smart person knew that Dorian and and smith were gone. See where this goes but i think next year will be the year to really pay attention at the seams after the changes

I think DJ had his time. He was alright, taking over a rebuilding team, no stability in net for his whole tenure, injuries, alot of excuses for him to hide behind but I did not think DJ is the guy to push this team to the next level. For a guy who's known to be good at coaching young players, he was never animated and didn't ever get the team going when they needed to. I moved to Ottawa in the early 2000s and saw JMs influence on the team, and I really think this team needs an old school hard ass to get to the next step.
Thought DJ should've been Fired years ago…right after the infamous "spitting in the plastic Red Solo-Cup" Game. Remember that night?

I remember when Jacques Martin arrived in Ottawa. His first order of business was no high jersey numbers. Bonk had to go from 76 to 14, Alfredsson from 63 to 11 and so on lol
The top guys like Brady T. Have to play like an elite player. He is being paid over 8 million per year.
