At one point, I think Drury could have gotten a 2nd or at least a very low 3rd for him. Let's see what Drury does with the picks. Assuming the Avs don't repeat, we'll have the 31st pick in the 3rd round next year. 😜
Avs are in a win-now window for picks that probably won't amount to much. Did the Avs overpay? Probably. But he'll be cheap. He'll have until the deadline to prove himself. If not he'll be moved for an upgrade. As an Avs fan I'll taken it for now. Goalie is a fickle position.

I was on a team once where I played Varsity backup goaltender and the coach's son was the starting goaltender. Needless to say I got very little ice time and when I did my game was off and I didn't do as well. On top of that there was a lot of hate directed towards me because I wasn't playing well and that just further made my game even worse because of the pressure. I went from having the best save percentage in the league to being ostracized and hated on my team so I understand how Geo feels
Jussi Parkkila is excellent goalie coach. I think he will do a lot of work with georgiev it looks like it's about his head mostly. and francouz finally deserves a chance to be no 1 if healthy. it's similar situation to this season. those goalies together can get avs to another cup and AVS shutdown D improved a looot last season.
Joe Sakic knows what he's doing and knows talent when he sees it. We'll see how this goes, but doubtful that Drury got the better of Sakic.

The first shot on goal is the story of his night. If he makes a brilliant save, he's great, score, its a long night.
It’s easy to rehash what he’s been like in the past, and you said it correctly under this type of offense he’s really not going to have much trouble. Furthermore he has never been coached under yours truly Jared Bednar and for that I think we’ll see a significant change in character when it comes to overall performance.
