  1. The other day, I heard Pettersson say HOG-lander, rather than HOGE-lander, so I'm guessing that the Swedish would actually sound like the English…I suspect that people just don't want to say "hog".

  2. Canucks are currently 5th in the league because point percentage is the most relevant statistic due to the fact that some teams have played significantly fewer games. Media getting overly excited over them being in #2 and only 1 point behind the #1 Vegas Knights is extremely misleading.
In fact, Vegas currently sits at #4(.712) with the Canucks at #5(.697), meanwhile these sneaky LA Kings that have played 5 games fewer are sitting at #3(.714).

  3. I'm exactly the same age as Donnie, but I had the opposite opinion, for three reasons. I liked the core, I believed in Rutherford and the management team that he assembled; and rebuilds are absolutely no guarantee of long-term success. It will just get you another core, but it takes a full roster to get very far. You can't get around the hard work of making incremental improvements.

  4. Kuzmenko got scratched due to the absolute gaffe he made defensively in the Chicago game. Our d-man went forward he filled his position as he should but when the puck went by him he looked confused that he was supposed to skate after it. There was a 1 second brain lapse there before he started skating and realized he is the guy that is supposed to get that puck which is absolutely brutal. To no surprise he barely had any ice time afterward and got scratched the next game.

  5. What works for one player doesn't necessarily work for all players, the Canucks need to take their time with kuzmenko, the Canucks don't have the option to send him down like podkolzin or hoglander, and like Rick said with the way the cap works and kuzmenkos production, a trade will not return what we all know he's worth. Best to keep working with him, because when everything clicks the fans know he is able to be an impact player.

  6. I'm with Dhaliwal, you can't just award points arbitrarily just because they've played less games. Drance sees the King's as a great team because of their winning %. I see a well rested team that's had a soft schedule and hasn't been truly put to the test. They've got a lot of 3 games in 4 nights coming up. They've got a lot of travel coming up as well. Drance is blind to the long game.

  7. I'm only 2:30 in, this is the second time I've tried to watch one of these, and this is a FKing gong show. Unwatchable. Cheers.

  8. We can all agree that Canucks vs Rangers travel schedule is a huge disadvantage. From being with family, to playing tired in different time zones to attracting free agents. How about the NHL even things out with the cap. Highest mileage team gets say 4mil extra cap over lowest mileage team. Every other team gets a sliding scale dependent on mileage. That would help even up the major disadvantage between teams.

  9. As long as Demko can stay relatively healthy ans Casey DeSmith continues to play as well as he has, they won't regress as far as people think
