I’m salty
I just wanna say that I live in Nashville and I’m pissed they get to gloat. Fuck the predators and their shitty fans and stupid ass long chants.
This is the game I fear they lose a lot coming up.
We have been stealing a lot of points by either getting to OT/SO or winning there.
As the season goes on, teams will tighten up on defense and our lack of offense will be shut down. We go from winning 3-2 games to losing 3-2.
The play is strong. We need to start scoring more.
Well I’m glad Frost got back on the ice after that hit at least 🧡☃️

Atkinson with the same move every time he gets a breakaway. Man, I really want him to get a goal to shake this funk off.

Fix the fucking power play
Atkinson has to sit in the press box for a few games. Between the lack of confidence on his shot and the boneheaded turnovers that led to the 3rd Nashville goal, he’s been terrible for a while now
Can’t be super mad at them. Team has been playing crazy good hockey, however if this team has even an AVERAGE powerplay they’re arguably 2 or 3 wins above where they are, including this one

islanders have 8 regulation losses and 9 ot/so losses, 17 losses total, theyve won less games than they’ve lost. 15 wins. 15 wins and 17 losses and they are in a playoff spot
Bummer. Close game. Weird officiating. No win because we didn’t convert on the few grade-A chances we got and otherwise just whiffle batted it from the blue line or scrambled confusedly in front. No mojo plays.
Very sadly, not only did Cam not score on his breakaway, but he turned over the puck to create the chance AND gave up coverage on the guy who scored the winning goal against us. Be better, arghhh! …we all want you see you succeed, man!!
A close loss to a good team is not the end of the world for a rebuilding team after all, but it *will* make you pause the parade planning. The streak had to end sometime.
I’ll say this. I am thrilled that we have a team that is not only getting to the net, but protecting the net.
My takeaways:
– Saros and Ersson are both elite
– The linesmen tonight need to get their fucking eyes checked cuz I don’t know what the puck could have deflected off of when there **WAS NO ONE IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE**
– Staal is booty
– Sherwood and Forsberg were buzzing
– Risto had a bad game
– Our passing through the NZ was predictable and awful
– Our pp is the fucking WORST dude
Clean up the mistakes and get ready for Detroit tomorrow. Brutal.
Power play needs to get better if they wanna be a serious playoff team
So with all the talk of “not being prepared to take a hit” the hit on frost is not that kind of situation. That is boarding and was boarding the whole way. Frost had his back to the guy the whole way and the the guy still drove him into the boards. thankfully he’s ok but that’s the type of hit that needs to stop.
Felt like we never got on the front foot all night. Even when we were briefly in the lead it still felt like we were chasing the game. Erratic and sloppy. Felt similarly against NJ but we were able to steal that one.
Tom Wilson got into a fight with Elvis Merzlinkins. Well, more like got pushed into the cage, sat on Merzlinkin’s stick, and Merzlinkins just started whaling on him, which I can’t blame him for. If I ever got Wilson in a vulnerable spot I’d do the same, and I think 90% of people would agree with me.
Cut to torts: UGLY GAME
It was a bad game where i feel like they never looked that dangerous, though they still hung there, so whatever. Will be better next time.
If only the power play or Atkinson could score more regularly…
