You're crazy if you think this is an average hockey team. They are well below average, and you shouldn't let that little streak they had deceive you into thinking any different. Average hockey teams make the playoffs (31 teams, 16 spots means more than half) and they will be mathematically eliminated by April.
Go back to the start of the season and people were talking about Mete being better than Sergachev. There is nothing more overhyped than a coach who gives a late draft pick and/or a young player a roster spot. No matter what the player does, if the player is playing in the NHL, he is praised for being in the show while his flaws are ignored. Mete has 0 goals in 20 games, has seen his time decreased and has not dealt well with the physicality of the NHL. Julien puts him at forward where he does nothing yet he gets praised for playing at forward as if he accomplished some great feat. He belongs in junior.
