  1. If the coaching falls flat on its own face, then the Habs will get a better chance at Bedard. Not that I expect a similar season as last year, but it it would be a nice surprise to win the draft lottery.

  2. I’ve been enjoying your podcast for over two months now. Only one issue I have- please stop using the word diversity (ie hire). The Habs should always hire the best PERSON for whatever job comes along, regardless of a person’s gender/skin colour/ethnic background . It also diminishes the accomplishments of people like Marie-philippe Poulin who got their job based on merit and not some box ticking exercise.

  3. Some people Ripped into my when I dared asked on social media, does Robidas have any coaching experience? Any? I looked but couldn't find anything at first. So I asked in case anyone knew. The most replies I got were sarcastic. "Did St.Louis have any coaching experience? Any?" IMO, having some experience is something that should be concerning. Yes, MSL didn't have a lot of experience and that turned out well "so far." But I can go through a list of former Canadiens players hired by the Habs that didn't end so well due to their lack of experience. Mario Tremblay was probably the worst. Do you remember Rejean Houle? He took back the team 5 or 6 years due to his lack of experience. His trades were brutal. Guy Carbonneau didn't have much experience and he didn't do so well either. Then there are successes. Kirk muller was hired as an assistant coach and apparently was very good with the young players. I'm not saying Robidas will be a bust because he has no experience. Some might argue that sometimes people in new positions make mistakes and need to learn to make the mistakes to get better. The same can be said about 2 new guys in Montreal. St.Louis and Hughes are also new at their jobs and can make mistakes. The Habs lost Richardson, who had many years of experience as an assistant coach and moved on to a head coach in Chicago. I expected the Habs to go out and find someone else with that kind of experience where St.Louis can lean on for advise because he himself hasn't even played a full season as a coach and no playoff experience at all. Maybe St.Louis was successful so far because he leaned on Richardson. I'm just surprised they didn't hire someone with a little bit more experience. That being said, if Robidas turns out to be awesome, then great. I'm not expecting or want the Habs to make the playoffs next season leaning on their veteran players. We've seen that too often in the last 25 years and it didn't go so well. I'd prefer as Laura said that they go through growing pains by playing their youth and hope that in 2, 3 seasons, they become competitive. so to be clear I AM NOT AGAINAST ROBIDAS. I just hope he has the tools to support St.Louis in properly developing their young players.

  4. "Carey's just gonna sit there and stare" very brave of you guys to not be terrified of the Goalie Eyes ™ 😉

  5. For years I've heard that the NHL was not a training league. That players needed to prove the belong. So why is this not the standard for the coaches ? I'm going to say that the honeymoon for MSL will end quickly. And to not hire a person behind the bench that actually has some good experience is stupid. OTOH, perhaps this gets us the #1 pick in 2023 so…
