The metro is still very close not need to panic yet, but insane how the Isles are in second place with less wins than a majority of the division. I have no solution to the point structure. This just doesn’t feel correct to me.

Islanders are crap. Boring hockey and they get rewarded for losing games. Change the point system
Absolutely hate Philly, but Torts turned that team around.
At least they make it to OT.
We’ve lost 2 games by 1 goal.
Lost 3 by 2 goals.
And lost by 3 or more goals…….. 8 times.
Maybe we should just stop sucking.
Loser points are for losers. Gotta stop the participation trophy point for taking a few extra minutes to lose.

Meh, if islanders were decent they would win like half of those and be way out ahead. Devils will pull through and make the playoffs, but it’s gonna be down to the wire. They need an immaculate month of January like they had last year.

im not sure why so many people are angry..the game takes 60mins, if you manage to not lose, you get at least something, because you were good enough to not lose..its fair point

But if it was the old NHL, they’d have 9 ties instead of 9 OTL pts, so I never understand the complaining of this.
Although I would be in support of a new points model (ie 3 pts for regulation win and only 2 for OT win)
Gawd, seeing us 4 points out of a playoff spot kills me with so many clunker losses. You sure can’t win the cup in November, but you can sure loose it.
Points for losing has to be among the worst rules in sports. There’s literally no point and something no other sport does.
