Just say it "Kuzy needed a kick in the ass". That's all there is to it and that's what he got and would you look at that, it worked. For now! The phrase "kick in the ass" is not the end of the world, even in todays world!
Defense was terrible Hronek Myers
You can't fault Myers for the 4th goal just because his turnover led to a defensive zone faceoff, not how that works
thought peteys line could've played better tonight, 2 b2b goals is nice but their defensive play was questionable
I'd say this is such an amazing Christmas Present for the guys being first in the league! Lets go Canucks, lets keep it up after the break!!!

Kuzmenko had two goals and bunch more chances. If he is going again, Petey will finally have a winger that can play the style of offensive hockey that he likes to play.
Dislike
Myers was bad again tonight. At this point when Soucy is back, I think you sit Myers instead of Juulsen.
Other thing
Refs wanted to go on the Christmas break badly. They stopped calling obvious penalties at the end there.
La has more games in hand, whatever it’s nice to see van be competitive for the first time in 10+ years
Kuz was a minus -2 on the night. He needs to learn to be two way player or will be gone at the deadline. He is a likable guy no doubt but shelf life won’t last here with RT as the coach.

So this whole thing about Petey not living up to ‘the eye test’ is actually a silver lining, a HUGE silver lining. Allow me to explain.. Right now the Canucks are #1 in the NHL. That’s right, let’s say it again. Right now the Canucks are #1 in the NHL. As of now Petey is top 10 in scoring and actually has more goals than McD. Petey, this apparent not up to ‘the eye test’ or slumping-guy is on his way to another 100 point season. My question is, what happens when the goals start going in for him. Tonight he could have had 3 goals and they were all within a couple inches of going in. One day those are gonna go his way. Puck luck comes and goes, and let’s be honest, Petey gets very little puck luck and on the contrary Boeser is getting all the puck luck – so you see how the luck can swing here and there. When Petey is going full send watch out..and what IF that was in the playoffs..I mean he’s a proven performer in the playoffs
And a big shout out to the Canuck coaching staff. This is an underrated part of the system that can easily be overlooked. From head coach to goalie coach and everything in between they got a good handle on things. Tocchet, Foote, Gonchar, Rutherford have all won cups. I’m pretty sure this roster is in good hands

Nice to bank this many points less than halfway thru the season. Hope they can keep it up. But there's a lot of UFAs coming up in the off season. Joshua. Blueger. Cole. Plus new contracts for Petey and Hronek. It's gonna be tight. Hope they don't end up as one hit wonders like the Kraken.
