The Blue Jackets had a 5-0 lead going into the third period and, like so many other games this season, somehow they let the Leafs back into the game, allowing 5 goals in the third to send the game to overtime. Kent Johnson was the overtime hero, but we can’t be completely happy about this win. I just don't get why they tend to go full defensive with leads. I was fine with that with a 5-0 lead going into the 3rd, but once the Leafs got a pair, it's time to go back on offense. Maybe this time can't turn it off and on like that. If that's the case, then maybe the answer is to never go full defensive and just keep the foot on the gas. Hard to say. If the Jackets blew that one in the end, I may have called it a season on them and just kept my eye on the Monsters, while pulling of my Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL affiliate of the Rangers).
Unfortunately, we were at dinner for the first 2 periods, so we missed the most fun parts that weren't Johnson's OT goal.
