  1. A young Probert vs an aging Gillles? Like them both, but I am betting Probert would have prevailed. Both were goal scorers, but Gilles only fought when he had to. Probert, by his own admission, liked to get into the odd scuff (as he called it)

  2. It doesn’t look like much really happened here. Camera angles really caught the gloves coming off however the linesmen all jumped in before anything could start. I think it would have been a good matchup

  3. Both in their prime without Probert on coke. I’m gonna take Gillies. Probert on coke, I’m taking Probert.

  4. Gillies was past it at this point and Probert was a young up and coming player before all of his later screw ups with Cocaine and booze (it finally caught up with him when he passed at 45 — RIP). For those who said he did Coke before many of his games, I don't think that was true though. However, It is possible to play like your on Coke without actually doing it, the Islanders did it for 19 straight playoff series victories and 4 consecutive Stanley Cups. So it would seem that Gillies had Probert beat where it counted — Championships.

  5. SABER goon Clark Gillies always did better when he jumped opponents. Here, Probert was ready and Gillies held on for dear life.
