It’s a longshot but he’d be a perfect fit for the team in my opinion

I can’t see the Pens moving him within the division

No way.

I can’t see this happening

If Dubas’s track record in Toronto says anything, it’s that he keeps his offensive weapons. He’ll more than likely get a new contract unless he wants to play elsewhere.
GoRangers5
I’d rather get Tarasenko back, he’d come at a cheaper price.

He is off his rocker that the Penguins would trade him to the Rangers and risk us extending him. Because make a no mistake, I would be willing to see this team trade just about any younger player on the current team (Kakko, Chytl, Jones, Schneider etc) is it meant scraping around enough money to keep him long-term.
At the same time, you do not want to see the Rangers trading valuable prospects in division
To me id rather go for Lindholm. Monahan is a great Plan B. We have to plan for No Chytl and maybe move him to wing id he’s available.
And then there is Duclair or Tarasenko who’d likely cost just a 2nd or middle prospect and a mid round pick.

the NHL cancels the salary cap for 2024 and the Rangers immediately trade to bring back Zucc, Buch and Frankie V
and while we’re at it, can I have a pony?

After last year’s Kane saga I am done with “it will never happen” takes. Would be a great fit but not sure we make a good trade partner for the pens.
Crunchyleafz
Meh. Sens probably don’t make the playoffs this year.. Tarasenko looks good..🤷♂️

This list is so wishy washy. He also doesn’t really explain how the rangers are so limited with cap space. You’d have to move a piece and goodrow is the only piece they could move with his 10 team NTC. I don’t see this happening and it feels super far fetched, but I wouldn’t say no

It’s not letting me read the article so I don’t know how they structure the deal etc, but Guentzel would be the ideal RW for that first line.
But what happens with wheeler? He seems like he’s playing better but I feel he wouldn’t work on any other line.

i’m not even paying these “Guentzel to NYR” articles any mind

Absolutely scorching hot take but the Pens would be one of the only teams to even hear us out on Goodrow with how bad their bottom 6 is right now. It would be nowhere near 1 for 1 by any means but could help with the salaries if Dubas was wild enough to think about this
KingJames_684
They should’ve brought Kane back, has been the best player on that wings team since he’s joined, instead they’ll dump more assets on another useless rental.

Perhaps someone’s hockey memory is better than mine as I plummet toward the end of my 40’s and my memory is dumping pop culture factoids while being overtaken with important dates for my kids’ schedules and the like but when was the last time anyone can recall that the Rangers were involved in a civilized, mutually beneficial trade within their own division for an *impact* player?
I say ‘impact’ because Guentzel would reshape the top line and re-distribute / allocate the talent all the way down the lineup; opposed to say, merely swapping AHL journeyman to fill holes in organizational depth or swapping a mid round pick for an overage prospect that’s a reclamation project in need of a change of scenery, etc…
I’m racking my brain but can’t come up with one. It just doesn’t seem likely Dubas will go for it when he can probably get better return from one of these teams in the midst of the Central dogfight who’s looking to edge out their rivals.
And who in the Metro would want to help a Rangers team that is putting distance between themselves and the division?

I can’t see it happening, but this would be crazy!

I would absolutely welcome this certified ranger killer

I highly doubt Guentzel is getting traded to the Rangers. Highly doubt it but stranger things have happened. I mean, the Isles and the Rangers completed a trade once or twice so who knows.

From that list, if I’d want the Rangers to trade with Calgary for Lindholm. He’d slot nicely on that third line if Chytil can’t come back.
