Jacob Trouba vs the Chicago Blackhawks | Home & Away Feeds | CHI vs NYR | Dec 3rd, 2022

Up to this point, the New York Rangers season was on a downturn and were on the brink of letting things slip away. After losing the night before vs Ottawa and meddling around .500, the Rangers entered the night flat against the Blackhawks. Enter captain Jacob Trouba. Trouba would hit Jason Dickinson, then follow up with a hit on Jujhar Khaira, which led to a fight between the two in the second period. After Chicago scored two more goals, Trouba leveled Andreas Athansiou at center ice, which led to a captains fight between Trouba and Hawks captain Jonathan Toews, as well as Connor Murphy vs Barclay Goodrow. Trouba would then skate to the door, slam his helmet and yell at his team to wake up. Although the Rangers would lose that game, the helmet throw and energy Trouba brought helped the Rangers turn their season around. Having been there in person, you could feel the momentum change.

Featured in this video are the home & away feeds from that night. It includes the two hits and fights, along with the Mika Zibanejad PPG following the skirmish.

  1. Not super impressed w/the CHI announcer. Bunch of guys get in fights with less than 5 minutes left in the period and go to the locker room after, which is normal for the situation. He decides to tell everyone listening that they've all been "tossed." You don't have to be a crazy diehard rules geek to know that's not what happened. NHL announcers shouldn't be getting simple stuff like that wrong.

  2. Nice hit on Dickenson, and good on him for just popping up. Connor Murphy has been a leader this year. It's funny that a lot of us Hawks fans are cheering for Kane in NY now!

  3. Trouba is the best hitter in the league right now. I enjoy his powerful open ice hits, unfortunately we don't see them quite often these days.
