I was going up the escalator, and out of the corner of my eye I see Sam Rosen taking a picture with another fan. He is such a class act. He made sure to talk to and/or take a picture with most people who asked as they walked by.

I met Sam at a charity event with the Rangers years ago when I was in my teens (Dale Purinton years). After a photo he asked who I thought I could beat in a race and I said Purinton…who Sam happily informed of my ego. I ended up meeting Dale that night as well haha

He is such an icon! Genuinely a nice man which makes him even better… I’m dreading the day he retires 🙁 he’s been the voice of the Rangers for well over 30 plus years… No one can call a game like Sam!!! He’s so knowledgeable and relatable. How he knows every player in the league and their numbers still baffles me with all the changes and trades constantly happening. I’d Love to watch a game with him or have a beer with him. By far my favorite call by call announcer ever.
When J.D. came back to the Rangers org in 2019 I kept hoping that one night he’d drop by the booth for old times sake and be the color guy with Sam, just once… I’m sure there were alot of other fans out there wishing for the same thing… sadly it never happened 🙁
Sam’s a class act and the Rangers fans know how lucky we are to have him ❤️
