This is a weird form of Doug weight hockey except we always get at least 1 point. Oh well, a point in colorado is solid, and Pelech should be back soon
I’ll gladly take the point against the avs tonight considering we had to play with 5D half the game. I try not to complain about the refs but the officiating was embarrassingly bad in that 3rd
Just so we’re clear this is what we can expect for about 50 more games if you don’t fire Lambert. The December streak was a major fluke. Team is going nowhere.
The mindset of “I’ll take the 1 point” doesn’t work when it happens 10 times 37 games into a season. They don’t hand out loser points in the playoffs everybody.
Where’s the guy who was arguing that Reilly is better than Pulock?
I’m all for defending Sorokin, but that OT goal was SOFT.
Downvoting is crazy, it snuck right through his armpit.
This team has lost more games than it has won, yet is on pace for 90+ points and sitting at 3rd place in the division. What the fuck even is this year?
Another 4 goal against performance by Ilya btw
A point against one of the best teams in the league? Yeah we should have gotten both but I’m taking that loser point to the bank
Its amazing how in a game we had the lead three separate times, Im still grateful they even managed to scrape a point out it considering the disaster that was those last 5 mins of regulation
Another game where we lost without ever trailing. Dogshit ref call there aside what the fuck is lane telling them to do? Sit back and just play dump and chase? Dogshit breakouts, no coverage infront of the net, poor positioning from sorokin, we let them tee off on the guy in the third. I seriously don’t get it.
They didn’t play well enough to win but at the same time the Avs’ last 2 goals are entirely on the referees being horrid at their jobs.
Sorokin faced 27 shots. 5 more than Gorgiev while playing a period less. piss poor play in their end, and nothing changing.
Please leave Mayfield in Denver
Really just a classic Mayfield penalty to wrap the game up for us
Of course they tied it off a bullshit penalty. Refs couldn’t let the game go off script
Pure fucking joke. From the fact that this team could not put up legit offense against a swiss cheese goalie is a fireable offense. Fire Lambert now.
They looked like they weren’t even playing the same game as Colorado. Dont know how they were in this game. Mayfield needs to be shot into the sun. The division is heating up and they keep dropping points and leaving opportunities on the table.
that play that ended with a penatly shows how afraid we are to play body. Lane needs to make them check each other all practice. blows my mind how soft they are on defense.
Avs fan coming in peace. Any word on the player that got injured by Girard’s hit?
Another instance where Cizikas covers nobody in particular on the penalty kill leading to a PK goal against. I’m getting very tired of it.
Disappointed but a point in Colorado is pretty good result
How this team is still 3rd in the division is beyond me
My one new year wish didn’t come to pass in the most expected way possible
Listen i hate to complain about the refs, but how do you call the Reilly interference and then blatantly miss 2 calls on Nelson and Palmieri. I’ll take the point considering our defense is fucking obliterated
Interference is only called against Islanders. Got it.
Sorokin has most saves and shots faced in the nhl. to put it in better perspective. he has 18 more saves and 12 more shots faced than second while playing 6 games less.
I refuse to blame the refs for that loss but they were atrocious in the 3rd period.
That aside it was a funny game. Georgiev looked terrible on the rush but we didn’t test him enough. Avs scored on some broken/lucky plays too but were clearly the better team. The honestly could’ve been anywhere from 4-1 Islanders to 6-1 Avs with a few different bounces.
I swear this team is an enigma. They show flashes of being really good, but there is something missing
[Recap: NYI @ COL](https://players.brightcove.net/6415718365001/EXtG1xJ7H_default/index.html?videoId=6344193999112)
We have 10 OT losses and we aren’t even at the halfway mark. The record for most OT losses in a season is 18…
Fire 🔥 Lame 😒!!!
i put this on twitter but i can expand a little more here…
this team’s defensive scheme is virtually NFL prevent defense with no pressure but no coverage. it has been a disaster all season in the d zone/on the PK, and Lane hasn’t changed a single thing. they define insanity with their defensive system, i truly don’t think it’s the players outside Mayfield. what does it take for the organization to say enough?
Weight was only offense, so Trotz overcorrects to defense. it was of course effective but that play style can only be sustained for so long. then Lambert overcorrects to produce goals at the expense of all defensive structure…
we’ve seen this group defend and now we’ve seen them score. surely a new coach can find a balance?
