In no way surprising. Whether you think Cousins deserved it or not, what Zucker did was still extremely dangerous and dirty, and will likely warrant 1-2 games in the press box courtesy of the NHL. Even if Cousins may have flopped afterwards, you cant go and run guys from behind in this league and expect to get away with it.

Edit: as of 1:30 PM AZ time today, Cousins was just placed on Concussion protocol and listed as unlikely for tomorrow. This certainly does not help Zucker’s case later today.

  2. Zucker deserves no more than a high five. Finally some culture and protecting each other. Zucker better extend here we need that 4th line energy.

Not shocking, still a dirty hit even though Cousins hit Valimaki

Love that we have many guys willing to stand up for their teammates, even if Zuck went about it the wrong way

I’m not pissed that Zucker was penalized and getting supplemental, I get that. He skated up to hit a guy from behind against the boards – regardless of Cousins flopping to sell it or not – and that’s a no-no by the book.

However, I’m absolutely pissed that Cousins got away with yet another dangerous hit that was way worse than what Zucker did. Valimaki was down well before Cousins lined up the hit, Cousins hit Valimaki’s head into the boards, and his skates left the ice to do so. That’s insanely dangerous and stupid, and Cousins has garnered a reputation for doing that kind of thing.

The fact that Cousins – aside from Zucker’s hit – got away with it is disgusting.

When is Cousins hearing gonna be? Seems like the NHL has no interest in holding him accountable for his behavior
