I knew that Dostal would become something great by the time he played in my hometown team, Ilves, a few years back as I believe he was the reason who sparked fire in that middling team first time in like a decade and made it one of the best teams in the league today.
From that point on I've followed him in ducks jersey and even though ducks themselves haven't been that good as of now, I see Dostal as Tuukka Rask of this generation, who funnily enough came from Ilves as well, and surely will achieve great things if cards are played right.

As a ducks fan I wanted to say THANK YOU for giving Dostal his flowers. Was seeing a lot of people on twitter and such blaming the leafs for not scoring more, but at a certain point the other goalie is just good. And for the McMann penalty I feel like it got called because of how it looked unfortunately. 19yo rookie lands cheek first on the dasher. Give him 2min for boarding just to calm the game down, but 5 and a game is a bit excessive
Ducks fan here. Lukas Dostal deserved to win yesterday, but Anaheim did not. Stunned the final wasn’t at least 5-1.

As a Ducks fan, I was pissed off when Chris Cuthbert, during the third period, kept nonchalantly talking about how the Leafs haven't been shutout in over two years, jinxing Dostal repeatedly.

As good as dostal was, the leafs had volume over quality, i would say. It was mostly all clean looks and didn't force him to move laterally very much, and when they tried, the ducks had very active stricks

These 55 shots are super over-hyped. Mostly low danger shots. Not one shot came off of a Leaf trying to stick handle/deke around him. I’d say the take away is not a great goalie but ineffective Leafs.
Thats the kind of goalie you get when you dont over pay 4 guys

Dostal is a great talent and a very promising young goalie. We are finally seeing some of the universally bad teams finally show some potential in Anaheim and Arizona. Ironically, I have all of Vatrano, McTavish, Nylander, and Martin Jones on my fantasy team and even dropped Dostal in November for Joseph Woll who remains in my IR. This game was fun from a fantasy perspective and great to see both Jones and Dostal playing great between the pipes. My 3 year old is saying he wants to be a goalie when he grows up, these guys will be great inspirations for him.

Steve, you asked how it makes sense when Matthew gets 15 shots and they loose. I look at it as the team is a one man show and the opponent knows the team is going to pass it to Matthews, makes it easy to read and make a save. Maybe shot the puck more and stop passing it to Matthews for everything

This LFR reminded me so much of a Sportsnet panel. There are so many Leaf storylines in this game; Robertson was scratched, Jones was in net for back to back, Matthews is the first to hit 30 goals this season, Benoit's first game against his former team. What do we talk about? about 8 minutes talking about the Ducks goalie, then a flash through the Leafs stuff before moving on to the end. Bedard was brought up more than Benoit
As a Torontonian Ducks fan, it seems like the Ducks always manage to get points out of their meetings with the Leafs. Despite it being twice a year and the Ducks sucking, I think we’ve gotten a point against the Leafs in each of the last 5 seasons

Every time I see calls like that major being called, I can't help but fume over the fact Brad "The Rat" never got squat when he purposely tied up both of Liljegren's feet, while chasing a puck into the corner, and ZERO DANGER was seen in that bonehead play by the refs warranting a penalty of any kind. The Duck was cut and never missed a shift, LILJEGREN MISSED A MONTH AND A HALF!!!!!!! WTF REF's?????
