  1. Walsh lost all credibility when he sucked up to team sky and defended froome. One gets the impression his feud with Armstrong was personal. He earned a lot of money writing books and newspaper articles on the back of it.

  2. I don't think I have wanted any sportsman to suffer his fate more than Lance Armstrong. The people he bullied, lied about and destroyed was unforgivable. The guy is a typical narcissistic sociopath, not a care for anyone regardless of the harm he caused, ,his only thoughts were for himself and he proved he will go to any length .Nobody took doping to the scale of Armstrong and co, and I hope his pariah existence is the only reality he now knows.

  3. After that whole tirade on cheating, to name Merckx as the GOAT is classic Walsh. I mean, Merckx got popped for PEDs three times, David. Hypocrites are killing me.

  4. Why isn’t this a movie yet? The fascinating story of Sully in the Hudson was retold. This story has many more moving parts, more characters, movie stars, rock stars, comebacks, money, intrigue, villains, heroes, lies, truths, and a full range of emotions. And a happy ending where good defeats evil. It also has fancy bikes! What’s not to love?

  5. Why the witch hunt ended with Lance?…. He was the cash cow. This guy was on a money hunt. 🥴 It's gone on before and goes on today. It was just about money and destroying reputations. Just wanted to tourture people like Marco pantani. Plain cruelty. Just another dirty journalist.

  6. Walsh is was only working for himself. There are many- many many other top cyclist he didn't go after, if he wanted to "clean up the sport" No – Not buying it!

  7. When I watch Tour de France then every time I find myself wondering is it even possible to complete such a long grueling competition without PEDs. I'm thinking no. Not at such a high level and at such speeds as those guys do.

  8. 21:40 Jacques Anquetil was asked once about drugs. He said he only used them when absolutely necessary. How often is that? he was asked,. "Every day."

  9. This guy David Walsh is a hypocrite. He named Eddy Merckx as one of the greatest cyclists in the sport while villifying Lance for doping to win. Someone whould tell him that Merckx was caught 2x cheating in the Giro de Italia and his results for those 2 years were removed. Hypocrite!

  10. Here is all you need to know about David Walsh, he defends a child molestor:

In 2017, Walsh gave a character reference for former sports journalist Tom Humphries during his trial for child molestation. In October 2017, Walsh apologised for what he said in a 2012 radio interview about the case but said he would remain friends with Humphries despite his conviction.

  11. Can’t respect Walsh after wrongly accusing Wiggins of Doping. Someone couldn’t stand being irrelevant after his famous Armstrong victory

  12. think you need to get back to the research and bring a book out exposing Wiggings…deffo a cheat. In my opinion Greg Lemond was the only CLEAN rider….

  13. … thanks David Walsh. Feel so cheated believing a lie, watching it, anticipating and getting excited over something that was not what it appeared. Armstrong/Legstrong – what an ironic name. Plenty people got ‘Lanced’, himself too. The fatal character flaw, pure hubris, and so public always. ‘Lanced-a-lot Armweak’, tried to be philanthropic genuinely, but believed his own publicity. In 2022 still not over …

  14. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA Walsh calls Merx the greatest,, Merx, the same guy who introduced lance to ferrari…. reality is this,…. Walsh is just a fan boy who didnt like lance, just listen to how he talks about sky. he knows like all in the know and any who are honest cycling fans, drugs win the races…oh and athlete bio pass sports are easily beaten by athletes.

  16. if Walsh is all about what is right and fair and nobody being above the law has he ever questioned or analysed any of the other riders in the tour de france in the 90s and put them under the same spotlight? What about team leaders, doctors, officials. If anyone knew or participated then surely they have questions to answer

i dont know much about walsh, all i notice from youtube is that he seems to be on a mission to attack armstrong. yes he was one of the worst and benefited the most but he was enabled and supported by many other people at the time.

I wonder why none of the leading cyclists didnt bother to start their own races with strict rules on doping.

  17. This dude is an epitome of an ideologue, and those types of people should be dismissed offhand. I have met quite a few ideologues in my life, and heard from and about many others. One thing that characterises them all is their willingness to ruin peoples’ lives in pursuit of their goals, money and sometimes fame. According to Emma O’Reilly, chronologically close to when this happened, and she might have refined her story since then, she talked to this guy to blame UCI for all the ills of cycling. But, without telling her this, thus lying to her at least by omission, this ideologue’s goal was NEVER to say anything about UCI, but to talk about Armstrong. As soon as she found out about this, she knew that she was fucked, which means that she also knew that when she was answering this guy’s questions, and most likely wouldn’t have done it had she known. So, did this piece of shit care about Emma? Did he care about what would happen to her???? The same question about Greg LeMond. Did this guy care that by talking to this ass-wipe, Greg was putting millions and millions of dollars in jeopardy??? Did he care about that, or did he consider Greg, just like Emma, a justified casualty in his personal war with Armstrong??? So, in the pursuit of his own personal agenda, he ruined lives, and I would argue, without making ANY significant changes to the sport of cycling. Yes, exposing Armstrong for the bully sociopath asshole that he is might be satisfying, but was it worth all the collateral damage??? There was doping is cycling, there is doping in cycling, and there will be doping in cycling, and that is fact. The only thing this guy accomplished is the fact that people who are doping are now more careful, and more sophisticated about it. Oh, and he accomplished one other thing, which is his own notoriety and more money for himself. And finally, to draw a MORAL or an ETHICAL line at EPO, excusing, and/or legitimizing all the other drugs, tells me that this guy has a moral compass of a toddler. I HATE Lance Armstrong for the douchebag that he was, and still is. I also believe that he deserved to lose ALL his money for the lives that he ruined while trying to save his empire. But I do not believe that he should lose any of his titles, or if he does then so should all his competitors, because they were all cheating. So, fuck Lance Armstrong for the bully sociopath asshole that he was and still is, and fuck David Walsh for being a virtue-signaling sanctimonious ineffectual piece of shit ideologue, who was more than happy to ruin other peoples’ lives, livelihoods, other peoples’ future earning potential, etc., all for his personal agenda, his 15 minutes of fame, and his book

  18. So even though it was Rife among the elite riders and across the board. Why is so much only ever focused on Armstrong?

I'm English and in no way an Armstrong fan. But literally never hear anything about any other riders from the 90's and 2000's.

Surely dopers against dopers is still as even a playing field!?

  19. Walsh is a dick head. Chasing Lance so further his career what a POS. Only thing you need to know is Lance did not start the doping everyone was doing it long before he joined the Tour.

  20. W o David Walsh and Greg Lemond Armstrong never wd have been caught. They stayed on the case, were excluded and ostracized by the sport, often alone. That took real courage and self-knowledge.
And then along came f Landis. Landis made the work of these two fruitful.

  21. Walsh was heroic in his work and belief.
He’s wrong though about why Armstrong came back. Armstrong came back b c he, having hobnobbed w USA presidents, had already used Livestrong time and resources to start prepping Armstrong run for governor of Texas. And after governor Armstrong, the facts indicate, a run for USA president.
That’s rt, Armstrong cd have been running Texas and then running USA. David Walsh and Greg Lemond did a great service to the USA.

  22. CNN just released a study from a Belgium clinic that indicates EPO,at least by their case study, does not offer any advantage to the takers over the placebo testers. The test is leaning toward a mental belief that you’re getting an advantage. They handed it over to the anti doping agency, that obviously want more proof.

  23. I do not agree on the statement that Lance embraced doping. I truly believe that he would have rather the sport be dope free. Remember his training, passion, and body chemistry. I believe he would have won. Now Lance is far from the nicest guy you would want to meet but like Dennis Connor and others, we appreciate these folks for their talents. bottom line is the majority of the peloton was doping.

  24. Thank goodness he doped. If he hadn't some other less influential doper would have won instead and millions of cancer patients would have lost the inspiration to keep fighting.

  25. GREG LEMOND —— wins the 89 Tour two years after taking a shotgun blast…….lance Armstrong DNF and a 36th place….plus he destroys the bike business of LeMond through his villainy……hopefully Lance learns about repentance and makes restitution to Lemond……if not, his apologies are worthless.

  26. It seems like the sport can’t ever be clean. It’s sad for the riders. In the past couple years there have been riders in their 20’s having heart attacks and no one seems to think it’s abnormal.
