*BAD*
– There are things in this world we will never fully understand. We want answers as to why certain players become absolute Greek gods against the Habs. Jeff Skinner is an absolute menace every single time. Goalie born in Quebec? Guarantee a good game Levi was rly rly good.
– Mike Matheson continues to be a bit mind boggling. At some points you are like oh dear this dude can scoot and make moves and at other times you are left wondering where the heck is the defending capability. I don’t expect Shea Weber, but I do expect better defensive coverage.
– Better team won the game but some of the calls on the night were just kind of bad. One on Stephens in particular both guys commit to the shoulder barge thing guy gets clanged doesn’t make it a penalty.
– Caufield trying to do way too much. Turnovers galore on the night.
– this team and momentum shifts. They got a goal called back (right) and then go down 2. Seen this movie before. Get a goal scored in the third, immediately let in another to finish the game.
– Need a bit more of just throw it on net and crashing it rather than trying to force the play to the middle.
– No real reason for a game like that to be a blow out. Should have went down to the wire. I should not be writing this before the game is done.
– Penalty kill once again too passive.
*GOOD*
– Slafkovsky is an absolute truck and was once again routinely winning the puck battles on the boards with ease. Of course, he needs to shoot more but honestly that will come with time. So many plays he keeps alive for Cole and Nick.
– I didn’t think the Habs played terrible just a couple of small mental errors. Probably a bit of road trip hangover.
– Gallagher has quietly had a goal drought that is well quite long. I thought he was decent getting involved tonight. As much as it’s tough to write on here he is obviously washed but hey I noticed him a lot.
– Armia with a nice night. Had the first one called but and then took it nicely off Dahlin for a short handed goal. Good as he had some dumb games on that road trip but has been solid on the year imo the Hoffman like hate for him never made any sense.
– Ylonen couple of skilled plays. Want him to get more ice time.
Rookie quebecois goalie with mediocre stats completely stonewalling the habs at the bell centre??? Obviously to be expected
Also im of the opinion that revamping the entire coaching staff at this point is more important than any roster decision
What a game by Levi. He robbed us from a completly different game.
With all the save he made at the start, he changed the momentum completly
Matheson was brutal on PK as well….
I’m in love with slaf
GG
Welcome home boys
Habs always get smoked by rookie goalies
Man, I wish anyone other than Caufield would shoot the fucking puck. The whole team aside from a select few players has such a pass-first mentality, they always go for the extra pass, and it basically never works out. Super frustrating to watch.
Makes a big difference when half of your team is missing…
What a frustrating game to watch. Tonight really showed our weaknesses especially in the penalty kill.
Also Allen not having a great night (again)
Matheson being McDavid in the D-Zone but Vessa Toskala in the D-Zone (abysmal)
LOL.
It’s funny because I thought the team generated its fair share of good scoring chances, Levi just had all the answers tonight, but even aside from that Buffalo clearly deserved the win, our D-zone was particular shambolic tonight.
Slafkovsky continues to impress in forechecking and backchecking. The one-timer is still a work in progress.
I remember a while ago people here talking about possibly scooping Devon Levi. He put up a good game.
Our defence looks fucking atrocious. Matheson and Kova look unusable at times. Harris looked like shit too.
I’m sad.
Beating BUF tonight would mean to still beleive a little longer about a wildcard spot. Even if it wasn’t ever really a possibility it’s fun when games are not meaningless.
I truely hope MSL will find a way to keep troops motivated, NYR will be a hell of a challenge saturday
