This surprises me, he isn’t afraid to throw his weight around. Great power forward potential but I’m starting to think that his shot flew under the radar ala Thompson.

This season has made me double down my hype around this kid, he’s truly a joy to watch. I think he’s solidifying his place in our core. When the other young guns come up, he’s gonna be in that “experienced but still young and relatable” phase that hopefully helps him be a good rolemodel.

Jake is great at using the body and antagonizing just enough to draw penalties without retaliating. He’s been knocked around a lot in the process but seems he can keep his head. That is such an underrated skill.

Bettman, just give him the Lady Byng now and call it a day. Why wait for the inevitable?

His ceiling may be higher than I thought. He’s tough, smart, has solid middle six skill and plays the game the right way. No lazy hooking or holding penalties because he’s moving his feet. Surprised there hasn’t been a roughing penalty somewhere along the way though.
