After the hit occurred, Pandora’s box was unleashed throughout the rest of the game. It was a tough, gritty, and slow-paced victory for the Devils.

It was a clean hit, He had his head down in the trolly tracks, most players will eventually learn the lesson to keep their heads up, Heck I remember when Miles Wood got leveled in much the same way, he learned and Bedard will learn too. I just hope he's ok (I don't wish him any injuries) Heck
The Canucks game is crucial. Hopefully Daws can be solid in net and Jack can play.

Something I'm trying to get out right now is how close Smith came to dying just as Adam Johnson did. After his hit on Bedard, the motion of it caused Betsey's leg and knife shoe to fling up like horror movie accident ready to slice Smith's neck open. I think the league needs to look at this for player safety and neck guards at best, and possible intent at worst….

It wasn't an awful hit by any means, but if it was Jack taking it on the chin we might be thinking differently.
Smith’s hit was clean. Jack needs to not hold his stick when spinning out of control. It looked like the stick was permanently affixed to his glove.
Clean hit. The late hit on Hischier was dirty af. Every freaking game the refs just watch while they do Hischier dirty!
Clean. Brendan was sitting back, all he did was hold his ice and step up. 98 was the one trying to split the D coverage, at full speed while reaching for puck control, through hotly contested ice. Smith had every right to say "no" to Bedard skating by him for a goal. Smith didn't line him up, didn't charge him, he just braced his body for full speed contact and pinned his arm. The unfortunate damage was done by Bedard going full tilt and reaching. Broken jaw was a shock to me, but it doesn't make the hit dirty
Wasn't dirty and doesn't need justified, just a hard hit with an unfortunate result.

here's the thing, it doesn't matter whether it was a clean hit or not, if your tough guy wants to hit our superstar hard and get him injured in the process, he better know that there will be pay back. Glad to see Murphy make some one pay from the Devils. In fact, I would have liked to see more big hits from the hawks until one of the devils superstar is actually injured. Smith needs to know that if you want to hit our superstar hard, one of his superstar teammate will also be bleeding or be broken!
When I look at the video the elbow finds Bedards jaw, does not seem too clean to me.
