I know a lot of people would take the opposite position to mine, but I feel bad for Jonathan Huberdeau and the situation he's in. Anybody who has ever played competitive hockey before knows that nobody wants to be the guy who drags their team down. Who knows if he gets imposter syndrome some days wondering if he really deserves $10.5M per year. I don't believe for a second that he thinks he's earning his salary's worth and playing his full potential. He's been told many times by now that he's—so far—one of the Flames' worst contracts in franchise history. It's great to see how he's genuinely happy when he scores and that he's still getting support from his teammates. I hope he regains his confidence and can be remembered for making a comeback in points scored, instead of only being remembered for his 65pt drop.
