    Full context

    >Pittsburgh Penguins star Jake Guentzel and Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway are two names that we’re keeping an eye on in connection with the Canucks. Guentzel is a 29-year-old winger playing a major role on one of the most productive lines in hockey for a Penguins team that is still very much in the Wild Card mix in the Eastern Conference. He’s a player that Rutherford, Allvin and Tocchet have a good deal of familiarity with going back to their days in Pittsburgh, and is highly regarded by both Canucks management and coaching staff.

    >Greenway is a player Vancouver has had their eyes on for a while, dating back to his days with the Minnesota Wild. At 6-foot-6 and over 200 pounds, Greenway would help add some size to a Vancouver forward group that needs more heft for a long playoff run.

Adams gave up a 2nd for greenway and he’s been good. Gonna need a better return than that for him

  3. I don’t see why the Sabres would do this. No thanks.

  4. Yop_BombNA

Unless they are sending us their first, no thanks

I think the Sabres need to get both smaller and younger, so this would be great.

If we’re out of it by the trade deadline then why not? Greenway can be replaced this off season and he’s going into the last year of his deal anyways. Vancouver could also use a cost controlled dman (Joki) and they’d need us to take some cap back in return (Kuzmenko) who we could easily buyout this off season.

All we’d need in return is Jonathan Lekkerimaki.

  7. We need a player like greenway more than we need another random prospect set throw at this point

Uh no lol, why would we move greenway? There’s been zero noise about greenway being shopped or Adams shopping anyone, Vancouver can want him but doesn’t mean Adams is looking to move him

The Canucks have a poor farm system. Their #1 + #2 prospects are very good.

Greenway is big and the sabres need more size. The offer would need to be high to part with him.

Dunno about this, thought we’d all agreed that we need to trade Olafsson to Chicago for Bedard, not sure why Adams would shop Greenway

Significant overpay or no thank you. He’s a materially positive part of the current roster.

Hope we can recoup the two picks we sent to get him
