  1. Buffalo will never trade Greenway, the Sabres coach treats him like his Son and plays him top minutes ahead of talented Sabres. I call Greenway the coaches Son, if you’ve ever played on a sports team and the coach had his Son or favorites you know what I mean.

  2. Forget about Guentzal, too expensive and you know the Pens would ask for a first plus a Willander, Pettersson, or a Lekerimakki. Greenway would be ok but as big as he is, doesn’t move the needle. Maybe Foligno out of Chicago or someone like that would be a decent fit. As far as Tanev goes, if he can reliably replace Myers minutes without going immediately onto IR, yeah, he would be a good choice. But they would have to move Myers first.

  3. Guentzel isnt a top six winger, he's a first line winger. "Top six" would imply that he could play on a second line and be well positioned there.
Look at his stat line and advanced metrics. Legit top line winger.

  4. Canucks need a top 6. Greenway is not in that category as you noted. The bottom 6 are in pretty good shape.wouldn’t fiddle with that. Top 6 fwd and a 5/6 d-man.

  5. Bro stop please. Kuz is gonna be an absolute animal come playoffs and I for one am ready to forsee the roi go sky!

  6. i would say a top 6 forward would be more of a concern than looking for d man.. have you not seen how improved julssoon has been playing.. starting to play like a mini tanev with his shutdown capabilities

  7. julsoon is here to stay in starting lineup folks.. zedorov has to stop coasting if he wants to get back into a healthy defence

  8. I am very worried if the Canucks are suddenly feeling they are in a win-now scenario… They are playing better than anyone had expected, but the deficiencies in this team is still very apparent, and they would have to mortgage their future to get what the team needs for a Cup run, which I don't think would be successful given that the team really is a top-six forward, a center, and two D-men away from what I believe would make them a real contender. Be happy that this group will be in the playoffs and will be a tough out, get that one or two rounds of playoff hockey… the current team needs some playoff experience before they can actually win in the playoffs anyway. Don't rush into mortgaging the future!
