thers absolutely zero reason arber should be in the AHL over guys like BARRON. If anyone needs to work on their defensive game, its him. the only reason i can them leaving arber down there is cause they want him and logan to grow together.
Barron needs so much work in his own end, and barely has an offensive upside…

I think we can afford to deal Barron or Harris while they are young and promising. I firmly believe Barron is the worst defenseman in our lineup today, he got some early praise for scoring a couple goals, but he looks uncomfortable and nervous out there, he makes a lot of unforced mistakes. I think Hutson, Xhekaj and Mailloux can comfortably come up and take those spots. Lets get some forward talent in here! Trade those guys for picks, then draft some forward talent.
The players that are wearing the CH play with pride…and for their jobs. They can't afford to dog it to get a higher draft choice at the risk of losing their own jobs.

Oh my God, I can't believe you even consider that they should acquire veterans for a playoff push. No!!!! We are building a real contender, and the last thing we need to do is exaggerate our chances this year. Stay the course! Trade Monahan, Savard, Pearson, and Allen. Don't get cold feet just because we're a few points out of a playoff spot. Don't we know this yet?

The Habs will not likely get a lot for Allen, but if packaged up with a D, there may be an interesting rerurn out there.

i am just not convinced that habs have that many blue chip nhl caliber d-prospects. struble, barron, harris are all playing "meh". jack-eye needs seasoning & mailloux is raw. if 4 of them (NOT including Hutson) pan out, then we are ok. i am thinking habs may take Parekh or Cayden Lindstrom. I hope they take Lindstrom
We are swimming in assets right now and good ones, not sure why everyone still wants us to draft a elite forward.. that ship has sailed, time to start looking at trades and free agency over the next 2 seasons I would not be surprised if KH makes a HUGE trade at the draft or prior

Habs need to figure out how to not play so poorly in the third period before they start to hope for a playoff push, imo.
I think the Habs will still be sellers of obvious pieces (Monahan, Savard), but can they also find a longer-term deal that moves another D for some scoring? I feel like they should sell high on Matheson now, they're already clogged up with LD (Arber in the A, Harris having to play the right side) and that's not even factoring in a possible Hutson debut after the NCAA season.

A push right now instead of selling would be such a dumb move. Only way I could see this happening is Hughes not wanting to piss MSL off lol
I highly doubt Hughes wants to retain salary on Allen. With just one retention slot left, that is probably better used to increase the return on one of the others that will be moved out at the deadline. The Kings are in definite need just now, Allen fills that need, and they have the Cap space. Oh, and BTW the Kings are going to the Finals this year. It would be swell to see Allen win a Cup.

Makes one question why they picked another more D in last year's draft?? This probably won't be the last trade request.
I personally feel it's time to trade Allen. He's been a Habs player and done his job and time well. He dosent really fit our team or timeline.
Beaudin I don't really see with much potential on the Habs with all our defenseman. I'd be fine to see him go to another team for a mid round pick.
I think its time for the Habs to show their taking the next step. A lot of people feel like they need star power. To me, Caufield Suzuki Slaf and maybe Newhook i see all as stars. Dach if he stays healthy too. Thats a core 5. Adding on someone like Mesar Beck Roy could be a deadly top 6 with good deph.
Defense is better. Hutson could be a very high point top defenseman. Reinbacher could be a 30 point Defenseman like Slavvin. Mailloux Guhle Barron and Xhekaj i see rounding up our bottom 4.
The goaltending is good. Monty looks elite with plenty of possible other starters like Fowler.
Deep core with star power. Maybe 1 superstar center would be great but you dont always get a perfect team. This still to me sounds like a consistent top 7 team.
Lets try to get a fourth round pick at least ,i mean we got a Xhekaj brother for a fourth …
Draft WHL players and stay out of europe for a few drafts. They need tougher, harder working players and there are other Point like players they can find.
matheson and Savard are taking up spots from future players who are ready to play now, and you got a handful of forwards that could be moved out for other more desirable prospects, same with Allen. just move em forget the playoffs this year. I'm not apposed to retaining Allen's cap for a better pick as well.

I'm mind-boggled by all the people wanting to trade Savard, and dumping on Harris. I know Savard is slow afoot, but he more than makes up for it with hockey IQ and guts and leadership. He single-handedly created our first goal against the Rangers with a great keep-in pinch at the blueline, and Harris did the same on our third goal. They quietly but effectively do those things game in and game out. If we're going to trade a D right now, point the trade guns at Barron!!

We are not making the playoffs this year, so let's just forget about that right now. Too many better teams in the same boat as we are – but with true superstar talent – just a few points out of a spot. We need to be focussing on the process of developing our young players, not trading to make a pointless playoff push. If that means we lose a bunch of 1-goal games and drop in the standings, OKAY! So we get higher picks in the draft, and hopefully luck out with a sneaky pick. Anyone thinking we've somehow completed this rebuild and are ready to seriously compete as a contender isn't paying attention to what's really happening. We have ZERO elite talent, at any position!!!
Guys..Jake Allen is not making saves, I think every team can see that. Primeau is at least young and could improve, he'd be easier to move.
comrie and samsonov have been terrible right now so of course no one is trading for them. Plenty of teams should overpay for Jake Allen or Montembault.
Give Allen to the Leafs but for a prospect and a first.

We’re in the bottom 10. What 0.500 record shows we could make run for the playoffs!? If it’s making a trade to acquire a young or somewhere early-mid career, than that’s some of the moves KH has been doing. But not something tonpush for the playoffs this year.
Also, you get offered a 2nd for Allen, you take it and run. Goalies just don’t fetch big returns unless they’re gamebreakers. And even at that… Allen’s good and I love the guy, even if he’s dependable he’s also an aging back up goalie. Getting a 3rd round pick would be good. Getting a 2nd or more and I imagine that means we take on contract from LA to eat salary.
