ENHANCING ENJOYMENT OF WATCHING LIGHTNING CONTESTS!

What do you all do to get the most fun out of watching our guys work for our entertainment?
Here’s my thing. I use tonight’s game as an example, 01/11/24, versus The **Devils.**
I’m in my early 60s and “the numbers”, (stats and **LIGHTNING** players jersey numbers)
really draw me.
I constantly peek at the SOG count as action progresses during games,
and I’ve memorized all of our guys numbers.
If I’m understanding the following link correctly:

the **Devils** average of shots on goal *against* them this season is 29.24 per contest**!**
That’s markedly superior to the league overall average of 31.5.
The **Devils** average *making* 31.5 SOG against their opponents per contest.
So that’s right on the mark of the league average.
That tells me, if our **LIGHTNING** get 30 SOG against the **Devils** *or more,* we out-performed
the league in that category, and I’m happy!
(10 SOG per period, or an average of **1 SOG per 2 minutes of action** )
To go on, if we hold the **Devils** to *making* 31 SOG against us, *or fewer,* again we’ve out-
performed the league, and again I’m happy.
(two periods of 10 SOG plus and 1 period they make 11 SOG, so **a tiny fraction over 1 SOG**
**per 2 minutes of action** )
Game after game, we also really need our **Goalies** to stop 9 out of 10 shots that get to them,
a .900 save average.
It’s better of course, if they stop 10 out of 11, a .909 save average.
It’s better still, if they stop 11 out of 12, a .9166 save average.
And saving 12 out of 13, a .923 save average, *or 13 out of 14* is Really, Really, Super Work!
I admit that doing all this number related stuff enhances my enjoyment of watching the
**LIGHTNING** work for our entertainment experience. What do you all do to “get more” out
of watching the **LIGHTNING** “do their stuff”?
