Was he!? I must have missed it in the broadcast. We could probably contribute him to no one running at early years JT but man if there was ever an Islanders I disliked, it’s him. Needless to say I have his game used gloves and a signed picture from a fight he had with Cam Jansenn

I remember him being a total goon. That one time when there was a huge fight and he’s just at the doorway looking like a psycho. Genuinely miss those days.

I was sitting close to Gillies at game 6 of last year’s playoffs. He was legit sad that the Isles lost (as we all were) but was nice enough to take a photo with us after the game.
I told him the second year we had season tickets was his first year with the Isles and he replied, “well you boys have seen some shit”.

dude was a legit disgrace to the game. remember when he was suspended 10 games for driving Clutterbuck’s head into the glass lmao

I loved this guy haha–he was also my youngest brother’s favorite player because of his handlebar mustache. I was at the game he scored his first NHL goal. Got the tickets for my birthday and we sat in the second row I think? What a bizarre game that was.
“Kevin Poulin started in goal for New York and allowed two goals on eight shots. He was relieved by Nathan Lawson, who stopped 15 of 19 shots. Poulin was reinserted in the third period and stopped 11 more shots”
Another fun fact I just read, it was also Robin Lehner’s first NHL start.

Going to the 2011 brawl is my earliest hockey memory. My mom brought me and my sister there cause she liked penguins (you can thank club penguin for that)
What a way to be introduced to the nhl lol

Man oh man I hated those jerseys

This gif of him always makes me think of that one coworker you may have had that’s a tad psychotic and makes everyone a little on edge when they’re around lol. “I wish this guy would stop yelling at us to do our job. That’s what we’re trying to do.”-his benchmates probably

He was the basic epitome of the heavy goon era of the NHL. Low skill, no regard for player safety, etc. Just pure hitting, fighting, and goonery.

Don’t like that he was on our team really, but in the end everyone had a Trevor Gillies and if it wasn’t him it would’ve been a different player lol.

It was either 2011 or 2012, basically the Cappy interim era where it seemed the final few weeks of the season they just decided to goon it up lol. There was a game against the Rangers after the Pens brawl there were 5-6 fights as well
