I just think his skating is only just better the RyJo and would still be a miss match on our team
DerKomissar99
I want us to deal for both him and Lindholm as we continue our quest for the infinity stones (guys from the top 10 of the 2013 draft)
Little-Nikas
What is he going to bring that RyJo doesn’t?
Both sit at 11 goals. Monahan does have 8 more assists, but that could also be the line he plays on more than him.
I mean, I’ll pay extra attention to him when we play them on Monday, but for someone who hasn’t payed attention to him in particular, what is he bringing that RyJo or Colton don’t? Cause we’d have to ditch one of them in a trade.

Pros: Probably wouldn’t be a rental with a low cap hit of just $1.985m. Solid forward who’s playing well off an injury plagued season last year.
Cons: not an all star 2c that the Avs just need to bite the bullet and get. Another band-aid? Maybe (probably)
Stamkos? Lindholm? Guentzel? Sometimes I dislike rentals when it means giving up high draft picks or well liked core pieces for something temporary. However, I might like championship parades a wee bit more..

I don’t see the point, the avs make the playoffs easily with their current roster, especially healthy. Is this expecting Gabe for sure never seeing the ice in the playoffs? If that’s the case then I still hardly see a point.

Center depth never hurts but like others have said it’s not a real upgrade at 2C specifically
BladeCoomer2049
yeah what we need is another injury plagued player

The only way it makes sense is if we move Ryan Johansen for Sean Monahan and no idea why Montreal would do that

I swear if Cmac pulls this slow player aquisition shit again….

I’m talking out of my ass here, but since Toews called out those players who haven’t been playing in the system, RyJo hasn’t been playing that well. Which is a sign to get him out of here imo. I was fully on board with defending his play and even posted about it, but when you really watch him, half the time he’s just watching the game around him instead of being in it. Idk if he’s really just that slow on the skates, but it doesn’t look like he’s hustling at all. The complete polar opposite of an LOC or Colton. It really slows this team down

Monahan was great in Calgary. Let’s continue with the 2013 reclamation projects. Might was well throw Lindholm in too
Canadian__Ninja
He’ll be retired and still linked to the Avs

I know it’s not a popular idea around here but I like this move for us. Guy can score a bit on a dumpster fire Canadiens team. He can be a good, defensively responsible 3C to pair with Wood and Colton/RyJo. The other guy centers Val and Lehky. This puts LOC back on the 4th where he can create mismatches with Cogs.
And the best part is you don’t have to even consider moving Byram.

He’d be like, my plan E or so.
My personal 2C list, in order, is probably: Frost, Mittelstadt, Lindholm, Zegras, Monahan
Shenanigans315
Lol no.

As a Habs fan, I’ll just say I’d be really sad to see him go. He isn’t a point a game player but he can still put up 50-65 points while being extremely responsible defensively. On Colorado, he could exceed those totals. The guy is a beast in faceoffs and RARELY makes a mistake. He always does the right thing and has great vision. I’m a huge fan.
Also – very happy to see Drouin doing well! Cheers!

HUGE pass. Ryjo proves being below average skater will no work on this team. Monahan plays at the same speed as him. Just be watching another guy floating around most the game.
