  1. I think he will be on the line with RHP and Monahan. Ylonen back to the 4th line, Armia a healthy scratch.

Or….do they throw the spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks and put him up in Gallagher's spot with Evans and Anderson? Don't see them doing that to Gallagher, but….

  2. Roy isn't a one trick pony. He is a complete hockey player who possesses many skills. Developing all these skills equally takes time and must be done carefully. I hope that Roy will be brought up to test the water and sent down for further development. I don't want the Habs to jump the gun on this one. I want Roy to finish the season in Laval and start off next year there also. At one point, he will become hungry and confident, that is when you bring him in for good. Roy is a precious talent, he could turn out as important as Suzuki in the lineup. A consistent flawless player who upgrades the playing of each player on his trio.

  3. Hopefully the French faithful dont think he's their saviour and put all the pressure on him… he's a good player and i hope he blossoms into a solid top 6 guy, but Habs are notorious for ruining development, and getting hopes up for another rookie right away could be harmful. I always like to predict player's potential based on the standard set of our most decorated player.. and that is Cole Caufield in terms of youth movement (not veterans)… Cole is Hobey Baker winner, World Junior champ, was touted as on par with Ovie in terms of goal scoring as an international level… but isnt Ovie in the NHl, and is Kariya (Hobey Baker comparisson)…. so I'm not sure how to view Roy yet because even tho he is a World Junior champ, and a star in the O…. and pretty good in the A, I cant place him just yet… i mean he can range from a Middlestat to potentialy Kyrou in my opinion… but he can also drop to a Kotkaniemi…. so hopefully he does well because he is good, but i dont want his talent to go to waste

  4. Whats great about Roy is that he reminds of Sean Monahan. The way he plays small glimpses here and there. So given that now Monahan is getting traded. Hopefully we will be getting a younger monahan in Joshua Roy

  5. Hopefully he gets middle six minutes and blossoms. He doesn’t have to get on the scoresheet to impress. Smart puck play and crisp passes will be what’s expected of him. Perhaps this audition is to see how his game is at the NHL level and could be a precursor to us trading Sean Monahan if he really does well. Wish the best for him.

  6. Not so much a recall as it is a call-up. I think he'll fit in just fine with all the older heads around him. He knows this is a tryout and in order to stick with the Habs he needs to establish some consistent high calibre play. Very much looking forward to seeing how he goes.

  7. Roy has performed at all levels. He deserves his call up ! First player picked in the QMJHL draft & then got traded to Sherbrooke! That changed the landscape for his development. This kid is darn good! Let him loose !!

  8. I'm guessing Ylonen sits. I have been in his corner for a long time, but he is actually getting worse the more he plays. After that stupid penalty against San Jose and blowing 2 shootout attempts, where he had the goalie beat, his days are numbered.

  9. I'm happy for him. He's worked hard since being drafted in the QJMHL. He's had success everywhere he's played and even if he doesn't play in Montreal the rest of the season, it's a good time to help him start to see what it's like to play in the NHL. He's going to be nervous tonight!
