Anderson hit on Černák – Have your say!

Josh Anderson hit Erik Černák as he was coming around the net. They called it a five minute major so they could review, but reduced it to a two minute minor for charging. How do you think they did? Have your say!

  1. This is way worse than the hit that got Nicklas Lasu ejected against Skelefteå in the SHL. He has no regard for the puck and delivers a hard hit to a vulnerable opponent. I don't see any head contact, but with that upward motion, that seems more like luck than skill.

  2. 2 out of 5 Troubas. Massive charge, the leap, but because Cernak is a bit taller, and saw it coming at the last second, he managed to get his head out of the crosshairs. I'd still give him 5/game for charging.

  3. So this came up in my feed today. 99100 fanboys said "CLEAN hit, nothing wrong with that, why did they even fight after." So this ENDS ANY AND ALL TEARS over Sheifeles 100% CLEAN HIT THAT HAPPENED IN A PLAY-OFF GAME, WHEN THE GUY WAS TRYING TO SCORE FFS. Sheifele never left his feet. Never elbowed the guy. Never hit his head. Anderson did all 3, and is a REPEAT OFFENDER. So MINIMUM 16 GAME SUSPENSION. $40,000 FINE, and EVERY SINGLE HABS fanboy should be forced to apologise for their gross ignorance, hypocrisy, and suckhole tears over the Sheifele hit. #CLOWNWORLD

  4. 100% clean. Anderson went up after the hit. Cernak did see him coming and it was 3 seconds after the puck left. If you think this is not a clean hit, you are not an NHL hockey fan.

  5. Completely clean with an obvious attempt to avoid the head. Shoulder to shoulder and something Cernak should have been hearing since before Atoms, keep your bloody head up. There is an obligation by the player to avoid injury as much as it is to clamp down on players who have the intention to inflict it. My son grew late a by product of that was his ability to avoid being hit ,by opportunistic players looking to splash the little fella. Problem is big guys dont expect to get hit , what put Lindros out

  6. Not acceptable for it to even be called a charge. Anderson almost comes to a complete stop. No reason for Cernak to be oblivious to that hit either. Both his own experience and his own teammates letting him down there. If you're his teammates seeing this develop and you aren't screaming at him you aren't a very good teammate.

  7. Fire Bettman and give the job to Scott Stevens, lets get back to playing hockey. I would rather watch Wendell Clark highlights than a live game. So there you go.

  8. its not the jump, he just get his knees of the way, to avoid trauma. When you slide into something you are doing automatically same move, slight jump just to put off weight of your knees

  9. Absolutely clean. It was a good hard hit. Cernak needs to remember that he's playing hockey and not line dancing.

  10. Černák was without the puck, and he hasn't touched the puck yet – 2 minutes with possible suspension.

  11. I’d say it’s borderline. I wouldn’t be upset either way but I’d want it called or not consistently – which seems to be the real problem these days.

  12. Refs messed that up. No need for any penalty. That's just hockey. Even the angle is so that Cernak had a chance to saw him. Not like Downie on McAmmond

  13. Does Cernak ever touch the puck? I'm curious what the NHL's definition of possession is, and if just attempting to play the puck means you're eligible to be hit 🤔
