Isles have their problems but at least they beat the p j judas led weak ass $$$-driven laffs. When pj judas is your leader and captain YOU WILL WIN NOTHING. pj judas-no championships, mvp's, scoring titles-NOTHING going back to his ohl days as a gennie . One ohl roy is it. He did cherry pick 70 goals as a second year ohl 'exceptional' one year. PJ judas even tried to parasite a title from london with trade his last year but taylor hall led spits took care of that idea in 5 games in wcf. Did a lot of floating around out there, never gave a fk about d play or details in his own end. Yzerman an ultimate captain/leader learned from scotty he had to be better and sacrifice offense for the good of the team to win championships. Three cups later that was true. pj judas has never been pressed to be more aware on d end-just allowed to float d be damned. Total selfish jerk. Its a good day when pj judas and laffs go down. I'm so sick of how little of an opportunity they give Wally. He is one of the most dangerous players offensively and is only given 8 minutes of play. Yet you give 3rd and 4th line players more ice time without any offensive production.

Gm Gil. while i am very happy about last night, as we saw, when this team switches off their opponents score. Once again we saw turnovers, from Dobson, lead to the other team scoring. Dobson will not be great until he is held accountable and cleans up his play. That said, I was proud to be an Isles fan last night. IF this team could approach this level of play night in night out they will be a serious contender to win their division.
Man!! We played our hearts out last night like their lives depended on it! Loved the hustle and determination. All 60 mins. Wheres this team been? If we played like that all the time. They would be in every game!

Islanders vs Leafs is always a spectacle. Great comeback, but still think the two goals by Matthews could have been avoided. Class by him of course. What a goal by Romanov. Glad we found some of the never give up attitude that was evident last season especially.
Well needless to say they played well enough. Pelech was more effective. They played a road game style which is how they win. Except for those two from Matthews when they lost him they played well. The first goal Barzy was not on that line. When Matthews saw what it would take to score from then on, he shied away as he does. Honestly these guys Marner etc don’t have what it takes IMO. Now that being said, the Isles have to play like that to win and they know it and they can’t do it every night. Engvall, Holmstrom and Wahlstrom were good and Sorokin got better as the game went on. Oh and Romanov puts it in the toy dept as Butchie says. Thats how you beat goalies now cuz they take away the low shots. Needless to say when Barzy and Dobber play like that, they have a chance, but night after night…tough. Now Nashville on the road looms along with another night against the Knights.

Hrudey was awesome in the Easter Epic but I prefer David Volek's GWG to beat the Penguins in OT in Game 7 1993 2nd round..
Easter epic a great isle moment. Isles were automatic in ot in the al/dynasty days. I liked the volek goal that knocked off the greatest pen team ever. The self proclaimed 'we don't need a coach' tocchet bunch. Lafontaine played a part in both ot gm. 7 wins. Scored ot winner vs. caps in '87 and the bow tie trade of patty in '91 (with b. sutter) that rebuilt isles into a formidable team that knocked off pens in '93. Pens were weak and isles led by kaspar exposed them as weak. Mario being hit at every chance and the open ice hit on jagr-all by kaspar-good times. Flatley was on both teams and the link between dynasty and '93 upset.
They played excellent last night. I just wonder if they are able to keep their engines running like that night after night. It would be nice to have a couple of forwards able to come in and give the older forwards regular breaks as a maintenance scratch.
What a strange game. That Matthews 'trip' on Martin was a soft call, IMO. Then the teams traded 3 unanswered goal runs. That fast OT goal was awesome.
3 games in 4 nights coming up against really good teams, I think this is the big test, if they come out of this with 3 or 4 points , I would consider that a success. The booos are awesome and still make me chuckle,
