This used to happen to the oilers a lot last year too. It happens when your team doesn’t completely buy into defense first and putting personal stats second.
I’ve never seen mcdrai play as defensively good as they have on the streaks so far this year, and the team is following their lead. It’s the only way to become an actual cup contender.

the officiating was terrible, but the thing is this explosion isn't exactly an isolated case. were the refs a factor? probably, but the bigger factor is the fact that the leafs suck. why do they suck? i don't think its rocket surgery. this team has the three best players to ever put on the jersey on the team AT THE SAME TIME and yet haven't, and most likely, won't win a single thing worth winning other than regular season games. the fact this team doesn't already have a cup, and isn't looking like multiple cups are in their near future will make this toronto maple leafs management probably the biggest failure in NHL history.
#44 Morlly isn't a great defenseman. He never hits, he never shoots from the point, he's fought once in the last 10 years. Toronto fans (and I am one) are delusional when it comes to how defense should be played. He's up ice all night trying to score because he thinks people want him to. Meanwhile, a forward that actually can score has to get back to cover for him. Leafs should put him up on the wing and see how it goes.
That McKinnon goal was sick… I yelled "HE'S SO GOOD AT HOCKEY" when it happened and out of context my wife thought I'd lost it. To thicken the plot: BIG TIME win by the Red Wings on a tough road gig tonight!

That missed Cross-Check on Matthews is normal considering they’re playing the Avs I’ve seen the Avs get away with 3 interference calls in a period, it’s like they pay the linesman before a lot of these big games. Just when your team plays the Avs, know this shit will happen
