OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at some comments that were made by Kevin Bieksa on HNIC last night. Bieksa took an opportunity to discuss the play of Florida Panthers forward Nick Cousins, calling him a rat. And I completely agree with him, let’s break it down.

Cousins is just practicing his best Tkachuk impersonation. I used to like Florida, that is, until Tkachuk arrived. Tkachuk was looking for a protege and found one in Cousins.
Obviously Cousins is happy with any kind of attention, good or bad, but he is going to seriously hurt someone if nothing is done. Glad the Enforcers take a run at him once in a while because the “higher ups” are clearly doing nothing!

Cousins isn’t a rat. He’s not even in the top three rattiest players on his own team let alone around the league. He does nothing different than 75% of the other guys.

The fact that he gets under your skin means he is doing a great job. Every good team has a guy like him. He can take you out of your game, which is invaluable in the playoffs, and the fact that he can get in your heads shows you how weak minded you are.
Cousins is really a smaller finesse style of hockey player who the bigger dogs have been pushing around and roughing up. For guys like that this is their way to get even. Is it on the dirty side? Maybe … but I've seen worse.
