Hayes definitely gave his opinion on torts to cutter. He probably didnāt say donāt play there. We all know torts track record with rookies. Heās very hard on them.

Chris, no one is saying that Anthony was lying that Hayes gave his 2 cents to Gauthier about the Flyers. Iām sure Gauthier and his family consulted with multiple players before they made their decision. You even said that Luke Richardson called you and many Flyers before he signed with the Flyers in 1997.
What was wrong on Anthonyās part was for him to say, āKevin Hayes hands were all over this..ā I hear that and it implies that Kevin Hayes went out of his way to sabotage the Gauthier/Flyers relationship to the point that the kid requested a trade..
If Anthony said that Gauthier consulted multiple players who were not positive about the Flyers, and Hayes was one of them, thatās totally legit. But for me, I saw Anthonyās quote the night of the trade and it came off that Kevin Hayes was THE biggest reason the Gauthier camp wanted out.
Torts is great. You guys should be thankful the organization has supported you like they have. Instead of constantly telling everybody about how your not bought out like brats. They should give Charlie o Connor your jobs.

Nobody is saying that ASF didn't have a text from somebody on his phone. They're saying that what he did with it was stupid, boneheaded, and unprofessional. You guys need to stop shooting suggestions and intimations from the hip, and pick up the fu**ing phone to confirm your story before you tweet out unverified BS that's going to upend the lives of other people.
If your entire reporting trade is in unverified rumors that are 99% wrong on Day 2, you're a hack and you deserve to be called on it. Just a fact of the business.

Anyone whoās been following this team closely for the past 5 years or so knows what Ant said is true. Hayes 100% had influence on what cutter did
Fact, Hayes had influence on Cutters decision.
Fact, Bundy said no one was shit on quite like Hayes was by Torts.
Fact, we dont know how much that played into the decision.
Fact, Cutter hasn't said publicly why he wanted out.
All of that said, Hayes probably didnt having glowing things to say and Cutter is a bitch. Philly is an awesome place to be!

I have no doubt that there was a source that put this into reality….ive had the pleasure of meeting Chris in my lifetime, and hes a great guy….you CANT blame the way people reacted about this because of information put into public….peoples behavior is their own responsibility and sending death threats to Haysey or Gauthier is just complete childness and has nothing to do with anything regarding reporting… people act like assholes in this world and then justify it using someone else then ultimately that person gets the fall….no mature person is acting that way, plain and simple!!!
So you got a text message from someone a short time before you went on your podcast and rather than either sitting on it or excusing yourself in order to do some investigating into the informationās veracity and whether the person feeding you this might be either covering his ass or have an axe to grind, you just ran with āHayes has his finger prints all over thisā? That minor scolding from Torts is something you can live with. You put the organization in a position where they had to back Hayes.
I know Ant personally and heās always been a passionate Flyers fan. He loves the team. I know he wouldnāt say something that didnāt have a grain of truth in it. Heās a Flyers fan first, reporter second.

As someone who is in recovery, I value Bundyās words more than others. Business is business though, and optics are optics. Letās turn the page boys, thanks for your honesty too Bundy stickin your neck out for Ant, I respect it. Well said.
I love what Torts has done for this organization but I did not like the way he treated Anthony the other night. It made me almost ill to hear him say that to Anthony. Well said Chris! You guys are the best!

You should know that before you share information you have no way of knowing for absolute certain no matter who or how reliable your source is. Torts was right to call it out.

The problem is Tortorella conflated Antās speculative journalism with the tempest of nasty commentary from OTHERS. He blamed Ant for the actions of people who made death threats, comments about James Hayes, etc
If Iām being honest I wasnāt upset with Ant for maybe or maybe not lying. I think for me the issue was just the burying of Hayes. It wasnāt going to be good for him after the report. The report profited no one other that to stir trouble and discontent. Torts may have been tough to Hayes but this was more publicly damning to him than anything Torts did. Everyone has different opinions and it is what it is but that my feelings on it. I donāt believe the backlash is if itās true or not but that no good would come out of it. Still a fan though.
