Sheldon Keefe’s solution to every problem is “bring out the blender and mix up the lines”. If you want to get far in the playoffs you should be able to adjust your strategy to what your opponent is doing. We’re not going far in the playoffs with this guy behind the bench.
Bring in Craig Berube! He’s proven that he can take a team to the Stanley Cup finals and win. Plus he makes his players accountable. I’m tired of Sheldon Keefe coddling the core 4, it’s time to grow up and earn your money.

You know who has fewer regulation wins than the Buds? Hawks, Wild, Ducks, Sharks, Sens, Habs, Jackets. Every other team has at least 14 RWs. Playoff ready? Lolololol

Zack, I think we can all agree that no matter how you build around this core group of guys, us not being buyers this trade deadline might actually reap bigger benefits than we’d like to admit. The biggest reason why I say that is because Tre might be looking at this as the first opportunity that we can all see in plainsight what this core group is made of without any trade acquisitions.
Now why would that be beneficial? Every year since Dubas ran the team, roster reconstruction was underway in mid January to trade deadline and this masked some obvious gapping holes and inadequacies of this core leadership group. Every off season we’ve had to hear why this group is almost there but just needs to get the monkey off their backs. Well, it’s quite clear that those gamers like ROR, Acciari, Schenn, etc were the main reasons why this lineup looked more balanced and why we looked more playoff built, at least for round 1. And the reality of why we can’t have a more balanced lineup now, is because of Tavares and Marner. The going rate for any elite scorer is 12 mill + (closest comparable is Pasta) which is why I don’t mention Matthews there.
Going into the playoffs (if they even make it) without putting any bandaids on the build of this roster will communicate that now it’s time to show us. There’s no reinforcements, you guys have to show you’re worth your salt. If not, then as you would say…
