This team and management are in denial. Every post game is same. Players, we played well but didn't get breaks. Mgmt, if Keefe thinks this is only 8 days I guess he has short term memory.

Leafs fans are in shock that they lost to the Oilers like the Oilers are not the hottest team in the nhl right now. How many times have the Oilers came back in the second and third period being down 2-4 points and won the game ,nothing new. Don't worry on Thursday when the Leafs put a 5-2 ass whooping on the Flames ,you can come back and thank me for the spot on prediction!

It may be nice to get a good defenseman, but doing trades at the deadline doesn't always equate tonplayoff success.
Look at the panthers they sell the barn 2 years ago and get womped by the lightning 4-0 in the series. Last year I don't think they made moves at the deadline and went to the finals.
Barube, easy choice. I like Mike Van Ryn but as D coach he’s not cutting it, But watching Reilly and other D heading up ice before the puck is under control in their own end. The players don’t understand how to play D.

I don't think Keefe is a bad coach… quite the contrary, but we all know that coaches have a shelf life. I felt they should have fired him in the off season. I think the question is " can you see the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup with this coaching staff and team"? I can't. So you either wave the white flag or you pull the trigger. There are some good coaching options out there who have won Cups. Maybe you want to ask yourself what the current cup holder, VGK, or the Florida Panthers would do.
Tell Marner to watch the game back… Marner is a giveaway machine these days. You may show up, but you certainly don't work hard every night.

Jones was terrible on the winning goal.
At one point Matthews going out every other shift. He looked dead tired. Keefe did the same thing in playoffs and renders him useless. Needs to spread out ice time more whether you like it or not
Coaching is not the issue. Keefe is handcuffed with the roster he's been given. When half the roster is bargain bin because 4 guys are overpaid, that's what happens.
I heard 1 fan say ' the boys don't hate losing". That's true.
As an aside, I'd take Marner in an Avs jersey before the other three.

4 players will not win the cup..especially when they’re not doing shit. I see absolutely no leadership, no fire, no fight, and no desire in the last 4 games. Frustration should be hitting them and that’s the problem, it’s not.
Martin Jones played a good game, he gave this team a chance to win and once again they collapsed defensively..something needs to change, i dont know what, but something. We can point at Keefe..we can make all the trades in the world, but ima tell you right now Marner needs to go..im getting sick of repeating myself, but how the hell are we gonna give this guy 12 mil plus or whatever crazy number hes gonna want? This guy has a piss poor attitude, almost toxic. Hes supposed to be one of your leaders, but hes sitting there after a pathetic performance and he dont even give a shit..you cant pay this guy that kind of money. When the Leafs were winning cups back in the 60's it was a "win or die trying" attitude. Leave it all on the ice. (Bobby Baun for example, with a broken leg) i realize the game has changed a lot, but you have to have some push back, grit and determination..atleast act like you give a shit..its getting hard to watch..a trade might not fix the situation, but i tell you right now ill take 3 or 4 more guys that can hit like McCabe and grind and wear teams down over Marner and his shitty attitude and flashy BS, any day.
David the players are not gelling they are not playing as a unit! Blowing leads like that consecutive is a COACHING problem!
Leafs D needs a rebuild, Brodie & Gio are old, slow and done, McCabe isn't smart enough. Reilly is your only top 4D and Lilijegren and Benoit are a good 5/6. So they need 3 top 4D. Also, they haven't had a great one in 20yrs since the Potvin/Joseph/Belfour era..until this is addressed expect more of the same!!
I blame Shanahan. He is keeping this Core 4 and Keefe together out of personal pride and not cold logic (ie – Vegas). Nothing will change, this team is doomed.

Think about all those last minute goals by Mathews and company pulled off just so the Leafs could salvage a point….the leafs are a .500 team and that's not good enough.

People pay a lot of money to see their team play. And when players like Mitch Marner don't have any hate to lose or care about actually giving a damn in a hockey game it grinds people. Quickly hoping marner is traded because he doesn't seem to care about the fanbase and his mentality will not be a part of a winning mentality.
This team doesn't know how to play within a system or structure. That's the coach's responsibility. It's not a last 8 days thing either. Year 5 of Keefe – time for a change (nothing personal, in the business of winning a cup not making the playoffs).

You guys made a lot of good points on what's going on with the Leafs , in my opinion the blue line is way to soft and old they should have kept Luke Shenn then get Rado Gudas , then I would of traded William Nylander for some players that can be physical and heavy on the puck , play 4 lines and keep the lines together this is my opinion.
Leafs have the same amount of regulation wins as the Canadian tire fire ottawa senators.
the back end is just not very good. they remind me of the canucks the previous 2 years. coughing up one lead and losing after another. just imagine what getting 2 top defence men would do for this team. would be nice to see nylander getting back on the scoresheet again.
