  1. kraken having beniers, dunn, and burakovsky all go out with injury right before a back to back just about killed their chances of keeping the win streak going unfortunately. plus larsson only played like 4min against pittsburgh bc of illness (and was surely not at 100% tonight either) so they were down their entire top dpair for 1 game and 1/2 of the pair for the other. barring them all magically getting healthy in the next 24 hours, their next game against edmonton will likely be ROUGH. and the leafs after that too 😭 im just glad they didnt get shut out again given how many injured/sick players they have at the moment

  2. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones provided to give a foundation (takes 3 sites to do it). My comments and observations at the end.

Oilers win 4-2 in Edmonton to continue their streak to 11 in a row so far. Leafs open the scoring 27 seconds into the first period. That's the only goal until 1/2 way into the second period when Toronto scores again, this time Rielly pinballed around and they got a bounce. After that, all Oilers. First Oilers goal about 5 minutes later, Leon from Ekholm to Bouchard to Leon, Backhand and totally unexpected. Then a little over 2 minutes into the 3rd we get DEPTH SCORING with Ryan scoring. McLeod does a pass behind the net to Ryan right up front and boom. Janmark got it to McLeod. What, you like Depth Scoring, how about Ryan McLeod getting the next one with McDavid as a screen but this was a Draisaitl on a quick change, McLeod in and they work it, he loops a bit and boom, it's in for the game winner. Then, like a first timer teenager being told "That's Not It" we get and Empty Netter from Bouchard from the Oilers Net. Maybe the empty netters need to be left to Bouch and Kane from now on (lol). So this was one of the "harder" games in the Oilers schedule and they won it 4-2. PK perfect. Only one penalty per team so it was a pretty clean game. Lots of hits (57 total) and Toronto blocked a LOT more shots (22 to 9), Edmonton with more Giveaways and Takeaways, slightly better on the faceoff, slightly more shots. Interesting game. Skinner STOLE this one for us. Remember that the next time you want to trade him or send him down because he let in a goal you thought he should save.; He WON this game for us by not letting in a lot more that could have gone in without him. Take care all.

  3. I have a video idea for the Hockey Dude… Favorite Jersey of each team since the start of the channel…

  4. Last year:
Non-Oilers fans: oh those goals shouldn’t count because it was on the power play.
    This year:
Non-Oilers fans: oh the streak doesn’t really count because some of the teams weren’t in a playoff spot.

Ok we get it, you’re envious/jealous/hate the Oilers. But at least don’t sound like a bunch of douchie morons that don’t understand hockey. Give credit where credit is due.
Loved Shannon’s quip at the end! 👍🏻 🤣 Thanks for the support Shannon.

  5. Have to say I continue to like Kings efforts..they have developed a great group not so far out of rebuild phase.

This game vs Stars included what happens when you lack the goaltending that can make difference in a quality matchup.

  6. Hello Puckheads!
    Almost perfection for @Dionyseus100, @Jelly_Jeffery, @korywalsh299, @redwing3150, and @zachphilipp1922 (7-0-1)
    while I posted a 5-2-1 mark (362-275-51 overall)

  7. Can you do a video on the western pacific division. It is so close right now and I think the next few weeks will shape play offs for them

  8. We lost the plot. It’s never been more over. Another 25 minutes effort. This team hasn’t given a full 60 min effort since early December. Locker room needs a new voice. Discipline, structure, consistency and effort just haven’t been there under lambert. All things this core was prided on under Barry Trotz. It’s not like the players are incapable of doing it 🤷‍♂️ It’s so frustrating to watch

  9. Damn this channel had made me more interested in NHL😂 then I would know. I have only followed SHL and Penguins/Rangers.

  10. There is a tide in the affairs of men. The Leaves are on the rocks, while the Oil have cleared the point and are hauling up the main sheet.

  11. Caps play such a good defensive structure. Not fun or flashy, but it’s winning them games. If they make the playoffs, they will be a tough out with that system and Charlie Lindgren in net

  12. Your whiteboard reminds me of school when you were allowed a one page cheat sheet and you crammed as much information into it as possible.

  13. Didn’t think that shootout would end in Chicago. Fitting that Zadina was the last player to miss; for someone taken 6th overall he’s been a “taken in the 6th RD” LW his whole career.

What a game, he posted sarcastically. If you combined the best Sharks/Blackhawks into one team, there’s a mediocre AHL team if I ever saw one. 🙄

  14. Leafs are in an odd slump, losing games when they have the upper hand and space to work with.

  15. 8th third period comeback for the Flames this season, very fun hockey to watch and really starting to remind me of the 14-15 flames where they just absolutely refuse to go away. Little concerning if they do manage to make the playoffs though

  16. Hey Shannon, I know I’m getting to this one pretty late, but you mentioned Jack Michaels’ name in this video and it got me wondering if you had any feelings towards his play-by-play style. I’m a big fan, but some people (my dad haha) are a little less fond of his near-endless energy. Seeing as you’re the Hockey Guy, I just wanted to hear your take if you have one. Hope you see this, and thanks for being such a steady positive in my life over the years!

  17. Honestly I think it's time the kings start realizing they have a goalie problem. Talbot's numbers are good but that's deceptive thanks to the teams crazy start. He has let them down the last month or so and I think Blake and Robitaille should be aggressive in finding a goalie that will actually bear fruit as a long time starter (looking at you Korpisalo. If it wasn't for Gavrikov coming with you I'd curse your name more)

  18. Welcome back Kappo…😮 That Bread-Man no look pass was incredible…L.G.R.!!!!! Shesty, did great….

  19. Most complete game by the Dallas Stars all season. FINALLY a complete 60 minutes. This is the team I want to see every week.
